Those were my thoughts exactly. Until I drove my buddies T5M and it felt so much more planted on the track as well as jumped better. I did not expect such a big difference in feel. Bought one the next week and it's nearly ready now. There was a real nice one for a good price in the for sale threads here a couple hours ago...

I know it's been discussed before, but for mod my truck always seems to have a push and on tight corners I always have to take them wide, I run the brass C block and 49g weight under battery with that brass weight and the other would that cause to much rear weight and the push" would I be better to go stock C mount and only battery weight? I run an 8.5 motor, and every thing but the front springs.

Mine had the markings for the body posts. They may be faint and hard to see. Move the body around under a good light and you should see them. Mark with a sharpie once you find them.

Finally ran my T5M for the first time today on my practice track. I warmed up with a ten minute run with my T4 with a 13.5 in it. Track was a bit dry, but good. Then did a 10 minute run with the T5M with a 17.5 in for its maiden voyage. Took a bit of getting used to, it was only the second time I've ran a T5M, and the first time on a basically low traction surface. I bought the T5 as a basically unused roller. So all I did was put my electronics/tires on it and go. It was a handful, but it's first run was only 1 second slower fast lap, and 1 second slower average laptime than my T4 that I have thousands of laps with. I realized afterwards the ride height on the T5 was way low in the rear, which I'm assuming accounted for it jumping very unpredictably, resulting in having to double-single my triple. So to be that close in times with my T4, I can't wait until I actually set the truck up how I like it. If nothing else, it feels more relaxing to drive than my T4. Maybe that was the 17.5, but I don't think so. I thought the same thing when I drove my buddies a few weeks back. Looking forward to racing it next summer. 1/12 scale is starting tomorrow

Just did back to back runs again (10 minutes each), and today I was only 2 seconds slower with the T5M, but did record the fastest lap-time with it, which surprised the heck out of me. I haven't even tried setting it up for how I drive yet, can't wait to see what it can do then! I find it pretty amazing that a truck I've got 70ish laps with, I can basically equal the times on a truck I've got thousands of laps with. That, and the T4 feels good to drive. The T5 run felt crappy.. but was nearly identical. Will be interesting when I get it feeling good
Anybody put fans on their B/T5M's? That's one reason I wanted to switch was it seems it would be rather easy to install a motor fan. I generally do 10-20 minute runs, and a fan helps greatly with motor temps.
