just got my set of SMC titanium turnbuckles. they're out of stock right now, but when they come in, if you are thinking of upgrading your turnbuckles, i would definitely look at the SMC pieces. machining is very nice. turnbuckles thread right on with no chapstick/green slime/etc and the price is great. definitely a winner.

Got all my stuff and installed I didn't like how everything I have seen showed the ESC to motor wires go over the battery, so I ran mine around it on the right side over the side pod. Drilled a couple small holes for wire ties to hold it them in place. and put the on/off switch on the left side. has anyone else done this? I will post pics tonight when I get home to show what I did. does anyone see any draw backs to doing it this way. It looks like everything is well protected and maybe other than having to add some weight to left side to counter this and make it more even side to side.

I've seen that done before....its just a lot of extra wire. The consequences of that are pretty obvious so I'll spare everybody. I think that's a personal preference. I would be surprised if it actually made the car perceptibly slower or affect handling.

I didn't have to use any extra wire at all I used what came with the ESC and had it over the top of the battery and just laid it off to the side. One way verses the other I might have been able to shorten the wires maybe less than an inch each. also in a mod class not stock I don't think the extra weight will even effect it, especially if I balance it out like I mentioned.

from what i gathered so far, clamping wheel hexes on the back #71014, kyosho gold springs front #xgs024 rear #xgs034. that seems about it. theres some talk of aluminum or brass parts for the truck but i think that depends more on what surface you are racing and your driving taste. if running stock everyone is pretty much going to the 3 gear trans.

I don't have any extra weight with a shorty. At most I may run 1 of those plates but i haven't had the need. I have the aluminum c/d blocks.
