What's a smooth mod motor? Fellow racer runs a 8.0 and it flies.

Probably will run a HW v3.1 esc.

I had a 6.5 in mine for a while. I think I would be faster with a 10.5.

Got a question and I don't know if its been asked before or not but I couldn't find it. I just built my t5m kit and whenever my from ballcups are unattached my steering and c-hubs and all move very easily and free. As soon as I pop the turnbuckles on it gets very hard to move. So I'm assuming it's the ball cups but what can I do to fix it? I've never had this before

Drove a fellow racer's T5M with a Reedy 8.0 and man what fun it was!

This truck has got to be one of the most fun things to drive ever!

So glad mine is coming this Wednesday, can't wait to throw it on the ground!

I would think it would do backflips on full throttle

The Reedy 8.0 I drove today was smooth with real nice top speed. I'll throw the 10.5 in for now and see if I can get good lap times with it.

I ran an 8.0 for a bit and my truck pulled a wheelie every time I pulled the trigger all the way. Its buttery smooth and and a torque monster. However, I had to turn the punch down on the esc and the epa down on my radio to keep it under control. If you have the mojo and think you can handle it then its a great choice.

I am running a Reedy 8.5 in mine and it seems absolutely perfect. I have just enough power to not have to worry about the truck pulling the front end up.

I did upgrade to the MIP 3 gear aluminum trans and I am not too sure about it in the truck. Have the AE 3 gear in my 17.5 B5M and I love it. The truck jumps even better than it did before, but I did lose rear traction. Not sure if is because of the new track surface after a track change or the 3 gear that caused the loss of traction. I am gonna try switching the transmissions from the truck to the buggy and see how the change affects them both.

If you run the ESC in the standard location a 175mm works just fine. If you cut the cradle to mount it further back into the battery tray you will need something like 125-150mm depending on how far back you mount it.

Had an 8.5 in mine and was always wheeling down the straight.

Built my T5m last week, raced it today for first time in 13.5 class, truck was awsome, most fun I have had in RC yet !!! I hear people talk about pulling wheelies, I was running indoor on clay with Bar Codes and couldn't get on throttle hard with out spinning rear tires with my 13.5 , how do you guys get so much rear bite

Broken in tires. I would assume your tires are just as new as your truck. Are you using traction compounds? I run Pro-Line Primes and clean and apply traction compound after every race. Tire care is the biggest part of racing on clay indoors. I also do not run clay compound tires, they never seem to get as much traction as regular rubber. I run either Proline M4 or Jconcepts Green or black depending on the car and class.
