Default 1/8th scale systems.

Kind of over 10th scale buggy so I am going to go 8th scale electric. Will be getting an XRAY XB9E, give your opinions on speed controls and motors. Would prefer to say with one brand for both.

I run mugen eco. I use to be a tekin guy but when I tried this hobbywing Xerun150a esc I was totally blown away..ice cold..tons of power..basically this esc is made my orion. Motor wise pretty much any motor will work fine with this esc. I am running tekin 1900kv and its a blast. This esc is only 100bucks. And runs like $200 esc. Just my 2 cents.

have had a few different 1/8 ESCs and motors since the early days of 1/8 electric when the Neu motor and a converted Mamba Max (not Pro) was popular.

Speed Passions build on the HW ESC works well for the money, albeit not exactly small.

Tekin's from what I hear of the Gen2 are really nice as it sounds like they are more robust.

as it sits now I use Viper VTX8s. I like the performance and it feels like a quality build and is water proof. been quite happy with it. They have there own line of motors too now, though the tried and true Tekin motors I still run.

I had HW Xeruns 150A in a previous life and they were good for the money however since moving to the Tekin RX8 Gen 2 and T8 Gen 2 motors I am significantly happier with the setup compared to the HW.

Having run both I'm a Tekin convert for all my offroad cars now both 1/8 and 1/10!

I have a hobbywing in my xb4 and love it. Will stay that route with the speed control. Seems the new takins are the way to go as far as motors are concerned. Thanks guys!

I run the HW 150a Xerun and 2200kv combo in my truggy and I just installed the SCT Pro combo with the 2250kv motor in my buggy. I run both on 4s and they have plenty of power.

I went from Tekin RX8 to HW 150a Xerun in my XB9E, and I prefer the HW 150a Xerun.
Run whatever motor you like, Tekin is excellent.

This is best for the money and 1900kv is the best all around buggy motor. Works on every track if geared correctly and is the motor of choice for most pros. If you can spend the extra and get the Gen 2 RX8 it is a big improvement over first gen especially the stronger adjustable BEC. The Hobbywing SC Pro ESC works well as does the 150amp 1/8 ESC if money is tight.

And the XB9E is the most durable and reliable Ebuggy made. I ran a converted XB9 for 3yrs and the nitro XB9 as well and never broke a thing. No DNF's, I don't know many that can say that. I have the XB8 converted now and I can't say yet if this will be as durable, I don't think it will with the new pillow ball front end. So far no prob though and it's done more cartwheels than Mary Lou
