Which I find rather odd, considering it's been out under Hobao for about a year now.

well i bought one. looks rather stout. i havent driven it yet.a lot of projects going on. i do have some questions about the esc if anyone can help.

it came with a xerun 80a-r and i can not find any info on the esc. I was hoping some one here would have some experience with it.

here are some specs that I got off the side of esc:

BEC- 3amp 5.75 volts (is this enough? will I have brown outs?)

non sensored

it says in the manual that "this esc is pug and play.Programing will void warranty" I called ofna and they said a program box wont work. I have one but I dont want to plug it in and blow it.

thanks for any help!

Well, just because they said a program box won't work doesn't mean they're telling the truth. Every other rtr I've seen with this esc says they're programmable.

I ordered one and it should be here next week, so I'll test it then.

I got it all ready (diff oils and thread locked everything). I did a test run and it is fast.

Tomorrow I will race it at the local track.

here is a crappy cell phone pic.

i think you can't really judge a buggy that somebody lends you. If they made any adjusting mistakes ( wrong fluids in the diffs or shocks ) , if they choose a personal setup that you don't like, you will get a wrong impression on the car. even an unknown motor or a bad esc setup could influence you. because it's all about feelings and préférences

that said, what can you do ? well... study it first ( threads, pics, prices ) and buy it !

Well yesterday was the 1st time out on the track. There was a large field of 1/8 e buggies. 18 in all. I qualified with the hyper sse 2nd in the B. I won that and finished 8th in the A.

This is all pretty much box stock. I changed the diff grease out to diff oil. 7/10/5. The stock tires work ok, good enough to get around. The shock oil I think is a little to soft.

Over all the buggy is great specially for the price! Nothing broke. I have some pics and a video of my doing a lap in practice that i will try to get up.

great job !

it shows your good driving skills as this hyper ss is surely not the best racer. i'm sure with the more agile hyper star you would have done even better !

please show us some pics ! thx
