Default Best out of the box 1/10th 4wd buggy?

In the market for a 1/10th scale 4wd buggy to go with my TLR 22 2.0. I don't want to drop a bunch of money for upgrades, however, to be competitive on race day. What's the best 4wd out of the box? Also, decent parts support is a must.

Also, since B5s just came out and the Associated 44.2 4wd are a few years old, is there any knowledge of a new Associated 4wd release in our near future?

why not go with a 22-4 since you already have the 22?

I like the durango but parts are a b!tch to get. Well not really u just have to special orded everything. So if u don't mind placing orders online or through ur lhs I feel it's the best bang for your $$. If u want to buy parts as u break them without special order I would go 22-4 or 44.2. Both good cars tlr is tougher but a pain to work on imo

The B44 platform may be old but it can still win. Since it has been around for so long, parts are easy to find. There may be some technically superior alternatives out there but this is a solid performer.

22-4 is a ROCKING chassis to start with. The shocks are butter, the belt drive is butter... build and go. The new Hot Bodies D413 is a great looking design but I haven't driven one yet.

I always assumed the trouble with the belt on the AE SC was that the the truck was a little heavier with bigger power than the successful belt driven buggies you can find. Well that and the stories I hear about how long it takes to dig into the truck to do any work....
