18SS vs jato
 

bassicaly what truck should i get as a basher..
running a savage and racing EP onroads but wanted sumthing more agile than a savvy both of these trucks have SICK top end the HPI is proven but the jato looks mean both have good top end and accel (within 10mph of each other) as for parts can get parts for either..
REALLY hard choice
i mainly want more info on the toughness of the jato (not from first truck owners)

i would go to hpi because i also have a savage and it is a great basher and the 18 ss should be the same with its durable parts just like the savage

I've done a 25 feet long jump (About 10-15 feet in the air), cartwheel, flipped, jumped my JATO into a fence and I've yet to break anything. This truck makes an excellent basher and quite a crowd gatherer.

...Oh yes, forgot to mentioned it got ran over by a bicycle once. :o The truck is very tough, and maintenance is dead easy on it. The rear bevel gear diffs (Yes, it has the same type of differential as the 1/8 scale buggies) can be accessed and pulled out within a minute, since it only takes 4 screws to pull it out. The radio/servo/fuel tank is on a tray that can be removed easily, which helps cleaning by a lot. If you have further questions on this truck, shoot away. I've torn this thing apart enough to assemble it blindfolded.

thats decided me JATO it is.. nobody who had more than 1 truck could tell me if it was any good.. all i could ever get is first truck owners telling me it was "sick"

Im on gallon 3 of track and front yard bashing and no stock parts have broke. I busted a turnbuckle but not a stock one. It was a sissy light aluminum one. The Jato is a great basher. I havent had one loose screw one stripped gear and I havent even needed to take anything apart or re adjust the engine position or anything. Its a sturdy beast, with more power than you can shake a stick at :spidey:
