Default Slash issue

Trying to help a buddy with his slash. He said the motor stopped working but still had steering. He put a brand new motor in and still the same thing. What can I have him check?

Was it ran through water?

Is it waterproof?

Check the ESC?

It is the standard brushed 12 turn supposedly ''waterproof''. Im trying to get more details. I told him to try and rebind the radio for now.

Would not be that if he can get steering out of it. Good chance it is an issue with the ESC since a motor swap did not improve life. I would advise contacting Traxxas if there is any chance of getting warranty work done. They do have a really good customer service.

Could also be a calibration issue, I have seen many of em that do that, u will have to play with throttle and see if there is any sort of light indications!!
