If I leave the spring washer it looks perfect!
Take the spring washer off..you don't need it. If you aren't engaging the locking part of the thread its going to come off.

The chassis cant flex properly if the strap/pack wont let it.
I ordered one of SMC's best 2S shorties.

It arrived puffed, I cycled it easy at 15 amps up/down 6 times. Then I hit it with 40amps and it puffed hard and the IR numbers were garbage.

I'll never buy a SMC pack again.

Did so already

Problem solved, but the question remains: How did that happen? I tighten and fitted everythin as best as I could...there seems to be no mistake...could I use the wrong slipper hub (not the outer)?

whats funny is I bought a new 4000 too and it's cycling at 1.5 IR with 30 amp discharge, 20 amp charge.

my old 4300 packs (Not the 4400's) are still pulling low 2's

I've only used SMC so I don't have anything to compare them to.

I have not tried the new 4000s, but the packs from 18 months ago were puff monsters. And when I cycled them they are always about 400-500 mah short of the label. but for $35 what can you really expect

Your inner slipper plate/hub looks OK in the pic, the spring does tend to wear in a bit, it might just need to get broken in. Also after you scrub in the pads, you will probably have to tighten it a bit.

Did you compress that spring with pliers a few times to get it worked in? That spring does dot look compressed enough!

The Turnigy Ultimate 4600 pack has been really good for me. My only complaint is that they are out of stock in the US warehouses right now. There are some 4200 packs in the HK US. I'm holding out for the 4600 again so I will be able to share it with my B54 in the summer
I won't buy SMC packs any more. I've had to throw out several lightly used 1S 1/12 scale packs that were very puffed.

Yeah I guess I'll have to try something else one of these days. My biggest thing is getting quality 4 cell packs. My 4 cell packs have been stellar, so I am hesitant to change

I have those. they are probably the best $35 pack. Mine are a year old with little to no puffing. But... the numbers do not hold up well over time like some of the higher dollar packs like the trinity. But then again, they are $35. you can replace them as needed when the numbers fall off.

1.5 IR is not good. Not when I was getting Trinity RevTechs with .5 per cell.

2.0's are ready for the dumpster.

That depends on how you are charging them and discharging them. Are you both using iChargers? 1.5 IR on an iCharger is very good and as low as you are going to see for the most part on all new packs that are being shipped. The Trinity onroad guys are not even getting packs much better then this, and they are surely not getting anything that's .5 per cell (as read on an iCharger).

Do you have to have a charger that measures IR or can it be done with a multimeter?

+1

I have several Trinity Revtech packs, older orange ones, white carbon & certified packs not one of them has ever gone under 1.3 IR per cell (the best one) on an either of my iChargers doing a 30A D / 25A C cycle charge. Trinity packs are way overrated at their price point. I get much better IR numbers & punch from some of my 2 year old ORCA Infiniti series lipos. Pretty disappointing.
