Anyone know why the Lunsford B5M rear titanium ball studs are 10mm in length instead of the stock AE 6mm ones?

Thanks

Richard

So you can put a locknut on the back of the hub like the Lite. I kept having those pull out until I did this on mine...

Ah ok, so ill lockthread it and put a locknut on before I start running it in, thanks. I guess the stock 6mm also suffer from being pulled out too.

Bought a used B5M, lightly used. I'm about to tear down, and clean it all up tonight. Anything I should have on hand before I start? I'll eventually do the lightened top shaft, but not today. I just want to clean it up, and reassemble, and get it out there on the track and see how she goes.

Funny though, this thing is heavy. My B4.2 was 1513g, this thing is pushing over 1600g's. Have to put her on a diet. Already has the lunsford titanium links & balls. So have to look elsewhere for weight reduction.

I just bought the b5m conversion kit and I'm wondering if there will be a b5m to b5m lite conversion kit

Doubtful.

From a cost perspective, such a conversion kit would run close enough to the cost of a kit, making it difficult to market.

3 gear transmission, new chassis, titanium links, even discounted would collectively run something north of $100.00.
