Is there a reason for having all those spring perch offsets other than providing options for ride height?

For you stock guys...what is your opinion on the MIP 3 gear....i have heard it is a must have. Any noticeable difference when compared to the AE 3 gear?
For me, it was a no brainer at the price point and the benefit. It centers the motor, and also helps pull heat from the motor. I also needed to drastically add weight to get back legal. The biggest change though, was the mesh. The AE 3 gear is really good, but the MIP is amazing.
The largest change compared to the AE 3 gear was jumping and braking stability.

Tall are normally for the truck. Middle are used for the buggy (2wd & 4wd) the majority of the time. The small ones are used for the buggy when a lower ride height is optimal...mainly on high traction carpet/astro. You dont have to thread the collars up all the way (which can cause you to run out of threads) to get to the proper ride height.

So I maybe an idiot but how does the mip 3 gear jump and brake different than the associated 3 gear? To me it seems both 3 gear trans should affect handling the same. [ QUOTE=Socket;13925014]I know you know my opinion, but I can state it publicly.

The MIP transmission moves the motor.

Egads....my stock buggy is, well.....stock. I have pucks and a slipper eliminator and that's it. I was able to hang with a mod buggy driven by a pretty good driver the other day. The only thing holding it back is the driver.

Avid makes a motor centering kit for the b4/t4 tranny for 28 bucks including a lightweight topshaft. maybe one is coming for b5/b5m?
So everyone thinks we built a brand new buggy and didn't put the motor where it should be?
