Correct I wasn't referring to the buggy and the 14 balls. I just think it would be awesome if I could carry a spare tranny that worked in both cars without any mods. That's what I meant I should have clarified.

Maybe the V2 transmission is a rolling change? My B5M is just a month old and it has the gears pictured for the T5M. Not sure about the top shaft, though.

I would be they are moving away from the 6x12 topshaft to 5x10mm bearings. The 6x12mm were removed for the B5M 3-gear transmission.

The B5 already rocks the 14 ball diff.

I can't imagine AE is going to make the tranny any different on the any of the "5" platforms. They were all interchangeable on the last platform. I think the only difference is the stronger grey idler gears.

My B5m kit from almost a year ago came with those improved gears.

Why wouldn't the T5M just roll out with the 3 gear transmission?

Joe, it is still unclear if it will be any good. It has been tried before by xfactory and durango with poor results. Maybe AE got it right, but time will tell. The word on the street is that the 3 gear will loosen up the rear of the car. How much? We will see...if/when it actually comes out. I suspect that AE designed the 3 gear for European style track....like the up and coming worlds. It would not be the first time AE has designed parts for the worlds. Plus it would be good maybe on carpet and astro track. Maybe even SRS. Cav has given no clear indication that it is good yet. I am not sure if Rivkin has been running it or not at SRS

I bought a mid motor conversion kit for my B5 mid-summer and it has the grey idler gears. I just broke open my B5M kit over the weekend, bought it in October (I think - maybe September) and it has the grey idler gears as well.

Because it is a tuning aid for a specific type of traction. In MM, the 4 gear will work best the vast majority of the time.

Was this a result from a different chassis, or have you tested the 3 gear already in the b5m to draw this conclusion?

What's interesting, is I still haven't heard if it's badass or not. Just that a MIP guy has won with it.

The stuff on facebook that Cav posted, didnt seems to make a glaring upgrade. All he really said is that he was still working on setups wit hit. Most people are going off the past results of the MM 3 gear. Maybe AE got it right. Time will tell. IMO, this is a high bite option part created for the worlds.
