what fun
Well I entered my first race last night in 22 years. Ran it in a oval class and a off road. I am novice in every sense of the word. There was the normal small turnout on Wed. There where 3 of us in oval, I placed 3rd. Was getting faster every every lap, if I slow down. Had some issue on both heats and the main on offroad. Came home with a running car though. My goal for next week is to finish an offroad heat. Glad I am back!

I am running Marcus's 2 stage pistons at the moment. I put those in before it ever moved under it own power. Don't ask me why? Like I would know the difference. The slipper, is it good for mod motors. Running a Tekin 9.5 which by the way to powerful for my driving prowess. My hobby shop had the Avid brg in stock, picked them up on the way to race last night.
The machined pistons are nice. i like the 1.5x1.1's in the front with machined 1.6s in the rear. Also, the Avid Evo slipper is the BOMB. If you dont have one, I highly recommend it. If you order hits $40, I think shipping is free. Unless you order something big like a chassis or body. The Avid 2.2 wheels are pretty stiff also and hold up much better than most.

Oh yeah Wildcat, using Marcus's Garodisk also. Once again I put those on before ever running stock goods.

Exotek B5 Flite motor plate & rear ballstud mount
Exotek have two new aluminium option parts for the Team Associated B5 and B5M buggy available in the form of the vented Flite motor plate and an aluminium rear ballstud mount for the B5M mid motor buggy. Starting with the motor plate, the CNC-machined part sports aggressive machining to make the part not only 6.5g lighter than the stock motor plate but to also improve motor and slipper heat dissipation. The critical motor mounting area was left out with machining to maintain a solid base for motor mounting and gear mesh adjusting. The part, that is available in blue and black colour, is designed for the use on indoor clay and carpet environments but a shaved bottom allows for debris discharge if needed.
The second new part is the rear ballstud mount for the mid motor B5M. Machined down to 6 grams to minimise weight but made with 7075 alloy to increase the strength over the stock piece, the 2-sided design has the stock roll centre height on one side and a -2mm roll centre setting on the other side by simply flipping the part 180 degrees. The mount comes in black or blue colour, polished and laser-etched.

Nat Maniac, other oddly things to check are throttle channel reversing before you calibrate esc. Straws..
oh one other thing - is there some sort of anti lock braking setup you have/have not done?

Hi all I plan to run a b5m with a tekin rs and a trackstar 17.5 motor at my local indoor clay track just for practice and for fun, what pinion and spur would you recommend? any input would be great. If the car is too slow I was planning to go to an 8.5 or a 9.5.
I am not new to the hobby and been in it for a long time so I can handle the power of the hotter motors. must wondering about gearing if I also go:
9.5 or 8.5 motors. what mod motor would you recommend? I was just going to buy a trackstar versions of those since they are priced right! I would probably have to get the x car 120 amp esc to go along with the mod motor since the tekin RS I think only supports down to a 13.5.
any input would be appreciated.

I have the 72 spur and settled on a 33 pinion, in blinky with 15* motor timing. Seems to be the right balance between torque/speed for the Speed Passion Reventon R and 17.5 MMM motor.
Motor temp is 135* after 7 minutes. I would start around a 32 pinion and you'll probably settle between there and 35.

Just get the trackstsr 120a turbo esc and a trackstar 8.5 motor and if your using a spur that comes with the kit run a 23/81

Does anybody know the weight difference between the Factory Team aluminum rear hubs and the stock hubs?

Me and a few of my friends have been using Tracksatr 120a ESCs for a few months now. They are as good as anything out there. I have zero complaints with them.
