The point is, his car was a 22 2.0 practice car, which had zero lightened parts, less power than everyone else, and yet he still TQ'd.
IMO, spend your money on tires and practice time. Everything else is just for your street / interweb cred.

I took a long RC break last year so that I could do some riding and I saved so much money over a 4 month period that I was able to buy a spare CRF450x to build into a supermoto.

I can vouch for this. This past Jan, Chris Bing (1996 ROAR 2wd buggy national champ) was rooming with us at the Midwest Winter Champs. He didn't have his 4wd buggy yet and wanted to run 2 classes. We talked him into running 17.5 as a second class, gave him a motor, which we knew wasn't top notch, and he proceeded to TQ rd 1. He never ran it again after that because he felt like he was cherry picking.

If you're constantly finishing 5th with a fat/heavy 1600+ gram B5m, year old Lipos, charging at 10 amps, running a last gen 17.5, behind 4 guys with $500+ in upgrades and equipment. You might be in a position to benefit from spending some money. If you're not that 5th place guy, why spend the money?? Could that money get you from the top of the C to the back of the B main, maybe but what then? You still need to work on your driving, or you've simply run out of talent and you'll never be an more than a B main at best driver no matter how much money you spend. But people, some people, don't like to hear that.
Money doesn't get you to the top, it cost money to stay there.

I see a lot of the B5M guys running the B5 rear arms. What would happen if I switched on some B5M arms to my B5?
Just received my B5M today and will be building it tomm!!!
Since this thread is 540+ pages can anyone give me a quick rundown of things to look out for and any tricks or immediate changes to make?
Thanks a ton in advance for any help!!

J/K just follow the manual and pay attention to the details. Make sure nothing binds up and everything moves how it should. Polishing the balls on the turnbuckles and make sure they are bind free will help a ton. I have never owned a offroad buggy and just followed the manual and used some basic know how and common sense and did just fine. Mine works great.

Paul Lemieux was a "hang around kid" at Trackside when he was young from what I was told. Look where he went. Moral of the story, you never know who the next "fast guy" might be.

If you ran the b5M rear arms you would have to flip them. It should increase the wheelbase and put more of the weight bias towards the front end.... I think. Not sure if others have tried this but now that you mention it I may give it a go as I will be racing a B5 on carpet soon... until I buy a B5M

I just put together a journal of my build. There are some videos in there as well. Hopefully it helps you along the way.
