Cameron, none of the alloy parts perform any better then the plastic.

The only reason for using alloy is for extra strength.

Well with the alloy mts you get more adjustability no improvement in performance though. Make sure you order the pills too the mts are useless without them

The car is really durable even with out the alloy.

Only plastic parts I see breaking, in order of possible failure..

rear arm hub
rear camber mount
front & rear suspension arms
rear arm mounts
front arm brace
front shock tower

most have alloy parts are the rear hub & arm mounts.

I did some testing tonight. A) In my opinion the B5M is better than the RB6 MM. I have both. I threw down a B5M without ever having driven one and qualified and finished 4th out of 20. That was despite the fact that I haven't driven the B5M 1 foot before today and I didn't practice at all. My set up is almost right out of the box. I am/was impressed. I will be using the B5M most of the time from now on. B) I tried using the SMC 3500 shortie pack and it was great. I ran my first qualifier with it and ran my fastest lap. It was flawless for 5 minutes with a 17.5. I can't wait to lighten the car up more. I'm not sure if the 3500 would be ok for our 7 minute mains.....I'll try next time. With a 4600 shortie the car felt a little soft with 35/32.5 shock oil and green springs front and rear....but it was good with the small battery. I've got a couple of B5Ms so I'm going to set the other one up with a 4600 and white springs....all I can say is that I'm pleasantly surprised. More to come when I get back from vacation.

I didnt have the same results. I was 1 second per lap faster with RM in 17.5. The car felt like it was pulling an anchor around the track. And in the 90 deg turns I had to counter steer, but the flowing turn I was wide open. The traction level was not the best for me. Maybe I didnt use the right sauce (hate that crap), but I just could not get any side bite in 90 deg turns. And in flowing turns it pushed. The RM just drove the same everywhere and was more predictable. We have 2 more rounds tomorrow for this race and i will only be running the RM car. A few other guys pitting around me ditched there MM cars for the RM cars also. We ran the Rm car in practice after the first round was over and everyone remarked how how awesome our RM car were in comparison. So its not just me. Some fast guy and a few others seem to like theirs. Me and a few others didnt. I will save the MM car for High bite mod, where it is actually fun to drive.

thanks for the tip about the 2x4 cap head screws for the shock caps. much more bite on the driver and much less likely to round out/strip the head. highly recommended!

On the blue aluminum steering rack does anybody know what the silver 1mm shims are for or where they go. Cause I have no idea.

Our track is very similar to the Cactus track. Its sugared clay/decomposed granite bluegroove. Its abrasive and hard as concrete but traction is near perfect....we can run almost any tire bald. MM really shines. The B5M was planted and smooth. The B5R was pretty good but I had difficulty turning it as hard as either my MM RB6 or B5M.
