Can use either, using plastic makes the most traction.
Suggest start with the plastic.

Does anyone know what length ball studs are used on the new Factory Team rear aluminum hubs?

Depends on which hole you want to put that shaft in.

I guess it also depends on the shim you use too.

you have to use shorter ones over the bearing or your will ruin the bearing.

If you are talking about chassis plastics, no. I am using hard on some of the suspension components.

Just the forward inside stud hole needs care & a shorter ball stud (6mm).

Rest use a 8mm stud..

Your going to use the rear inside stud location on the hub & include 3mm spacer under the stud.

I've been having good results with the exotek direct mount spur/ slipper eliminator:
http://www.exotekracing.com/b5-b4-t4...spur-gear-hub/

I race 17.5 and most guys lock down their slippers anyway. This combined with the aluminum topshaft has made a noticable difference in acceleration and snappiness.
