Does anyone else have other cooling mods they've done?
One's i'm currently aware of are the motor band mounted fan, waterfall mod/mount.
Anyone doing scoops or vent holes on the body? gator teething or shimming the gear cover?
My motors currently are running okay. I've been thinking about helping that out a bit in the future but I'm currently mired with a heck of a time keeping my tekin rs cool. It has the latest software (i believe) and I'm in blinky mode with some wimpy mod motors (10.5/13.5). We use a lot of heavy brakes on the currently layout and I'm sure some of that is the problem for the regular RS. Unfortunately with the 10.5 (same elec setup as my previous B4 and never had an issue like this) i've been between 23/81 and 27/81 with very little speedo change (170F!) so I've dropped to a 13.5 thinking maybe something is wrong with the motor and it has not gone down much. Can't drop the gear on it much more either as the 17.5s nearly walk me down the front straight now! Transmission seems okay but I guess I need to take it apart and verify.
So let's see some of your ideas!

After Tuesdays club race
Let a couple teammates test my ride.
One drives a Losi, other drives a B5m setup like most .
They both said way better then there rides..
Then ? I drove the B5m set up normal..
My remark ?
"Dude !! My ride use to drive like this.."
conclusion:
Inline shorty rocks...

Will the b5m body work on the 4.2 centro ?
For moonscape layouts that blow rooster tails ?
Stick
with the stock setup...
For indoor clay ?
Inline shorty will rule after a few more months.
Believe it will become the standard setup for B5m.
Also the 4 x 55 pistons , they are awesome..
Did you stick with the 37.5 front and 32.5 rear oils?
Hartson's got the right idea...
GTI
Same oil weights..No changes...
Last night Ryan Matesa ( top N/w k car driver) said best he ever seen me drive ..
I trying to tell you guys its the best.
After driving a b5m stock , totally convence inline shorty will prove to be the standard setup over the next couple months...

Inline shorty works pretty well on the TLR22, why not on the B5M?
I ran the dustin evans jconcepts setup except shorty and inline and it did not use extra weights - I still have the weight kit sitting in my parts bin unopened.
Personally, I'm going to get a shorty, run it sideways and move my esc back to where the battery brace splits and relocate the RX inline as well. So far, I think I liked my RM B5 better (ducks for cover...)

If the AE people follow this forum they must be getting a good laugh about all this "inline" setup talk. I am going to go out on a limb here and say the inline setup was tested before the release of the car. Its funny how a new car comes out and all these people start hacking away with their dremel tools to better a car that was just released with hundreds of man hours testing. I bet if the inline setup was better it would have been released with it. I guess some can keep hacking away with the dremel while the rest of us go race and have fun.
