It was originally released before the VTS so many got it, I stay with it because, say it with me, it's lighter. And in MY OPINION(!) more consistent.

If you go to LiveRC and click 'View Broadcast' like you want to watch a race then select Cactus Classic under Featured Events (it will show as off line). Then click on the Results tab below the chat window and scroll down to race 45 and click on it. Then scroll down slightly and you can watch the replay. The video quality is quite horrible. I'll check with his pops to see if there is a better copy.

I was reading a AE article and it was saying how the shock towers and front arms where made universal on purpose for tuning aspects, has anyone tried the gull wing and tower yet?

So why don't you see more stock 17.5 set ups on team associated and petit rc? Do they only put winning set ups on there? If so foes this mean not many people are winning big races in the 17.5 class yet

Yeah I never grabbed the old Avid slipper setup for my B4.1 (running stock at the time). I was running my B44.2 a lot which had the VTS when it was brand new from AE, and it was way more consistent and easier to set than the old style slipper on on my old B44.1 , so I was happy.

Just bought a bunch of other new goodies for my B5m, so I'll have to yet wait again to try the Schelle slipper setup.

New car perhaps?
Maybe people are still tweaking their set-ups?

I am running the box stock set-up myself with 2 tweaks, and its golden!
Med/High bite indoor clay slightly bumpy

Most good indoor clay setups I've seen have been pretty similar, with very slight tweaks in oil / spring / roll centers
http://www.rctech.net/forum/13152007-post3075.html

Seems a lot are gravitating towards 3 x 1.4mm front pistons, and oils are getting lighter. Also the inside rear shock tower hole on the rear seems to be a popular option.

Is anyone adding weight? I noticed on the Yokomo thread, they are adding 11g to the nose when in mid motor. They also seem to like the gear diff.

Seems to me the b5R is doing fine and for most people the better choice for 17.5. Not everyone... driving style, track conditions, etc. vary a ton. This thing is brand new so there is still mad testing going on and there will be for a while to come. After the Stock Nats that are just around the corner I'd guess there will be a lot more info starting to show up. Right now I would think the speedy fast people are keeping their 'finds' to themselves until after the Nats.

I kinda hated the box setup. IMO the rear end was too loose (again, indoor clay). A few small changes really got the car more locked in.
