Actually Jesse, its the position of the front caster block. You shim it differently to maintain wheelbase. AE shouldnt have said "rear casterblock" It should have just said casterblock.

The rear shim on the [front] caster block. Not the rear of the car. To maintain overall wheelbase, you adjust the caster block spacing to counter the movement of the axle with the different trailing positions. The "Rear Caster Block Wheelbase Shim."

I run the Triad on my B5...use the kit slipper spring and washer and you're good to go. The Avid spring fits fine but the washer doesn't fit the end of the top shaft as it is now larger than the old one. I'm sure AVID will update the part at some point but for now just use the kit spring and washer.

Schelle has a spring kit that will fit the B5, or you could drill out the avid washer to fit the b5 topshaft and use the triad spring.

Wow! This place has cheap prices like another online shop in my county... but this one is just 7 miles down the (same) street from my house and also offers local pickup

Thanks for the shop tip

The schelle spur gears are molded out of a different material and are quieter. I am not sure how long avid will continue to sell the triad. Kurt (the guy who designed the Triad) just started Schelle and owns the rights to those designs.

I heard someone locally actually got a B5M kit late last week.

Anyone else got their B5M yet?

Looks like the B4 ones. How are those supposed to work on the new axles or do you need different ones?

Ok. I'm with you so far. Part number 91400 includes the 2mm shim. What do you use for 1mm if you want to run 3mm trailing axles?

2x 1mm shims. Shim the block 1mm on each side.

Thanks Matt. Do you have a part number for the 1mm shims?
