Quick Question? Do any of you know where I could get A set of flat front arms and RM front shock tower. Its for a rear motor car but I own both. Everywhere I have looked is out of everything but a pack of screws LOL.

Definitely my favorite so far. Very minimalistic, very functional. I mean really, why does a carbon fiber battery strap need so called "style?" Just useless weight in my opinion. (And not as good looking)

I would suggest going with the hobbywing cap pack instead if you can verify that the specs are the same. The Orion has 2 16v 330uF caps in series.

(The orion and hobbywing cap packs are indeed the same, or very similar. I would just go for the hobbywing one instead of messing with the orion one.)
Actually if you look closer at that picture you can see the plastic has been broken open and reglued, while open I did see that mine are attached to a pc board like the HW's so shrinkwraping shouldn't be an issue. I actually considered it originally, but thanks for your advice, my other two might be in that configuration.

I just let people over spend and if they ask me, I will give them feedback on the many many esc's I have bought and sold over the past 1-2 years. I have pretty much owned every major and high end budget esc. But I find most people will buy the shiny stuff or their personal brand they are loyal to.
Win some A mains beating some fast guys and people will listen. Most people do what the fast guys do. What you're leaving out or may not know is that although a handful of ESCs are made at the same place, the software can be different and that can have quite an affect on performance.

Randy, I have explained that info about software . Sure some guys copy the fast guys. Most of the long time racers get stuck on brands. I bought them all and tried them. I prefer viper myself.

Why do you prefer VIPER, I'm just curious. I have heard alot of good things about them I just have never tried one. However, they arent much cheaper than the supposed top-shelf brands?

This is my personal experience. Dont hate if you disagree.

1-Year warranty
2- As smoother or smoother than any other brands. The throttle and braking feel can be adjusted via PWN changes
3- All alum chassis, for better cooling
4- Small form factor. Really nice for todays tiny chassis space.
5- "My" versions have pre mounted caps on top of the esc and dont require taping them down to the chassis. again, more free chassis space
6- Hand held LCD programmer about the size of a credit card
7- 8 prebuilt profiles that you can customize to whatever and quickly load track side via a single button
8- Never had an issue with them.
9- Strong customer service presence on these boards.
10- BEC up to 7v and never had a brown out
11-shuts itself of from 1-10 minutes if not input. configurable and can be disabled

Dislikes:
1- the color orange
2- sensored ONLY. if a sensor wire break mid race your done. The HW and Orion series esc's will keep going, but cog.
3- cant run a 4x4 sct with the vtx10. Not really a huge deal, but nice to have a smallish esc to run all of your 10th scale cars. Thar sais, I used a speed passion gt2.0 pro in my scte, but sold my scte and the esc it really tight in the 22 or b5 series cars.
4) if you need a fan...maybe wheeler class ( I didnt), the viper fan system is just silly. But I have never needed a fan, so meh.

My second favorite esc's are the HW v2.1 and 3.1 class of esc's. very smooth and robust, but its size, weight and the firmware swapping are annoying. But given enough chassis space, these are pimp esc's and soooooooo under rated my most people. If you only running stock 17.5, you really cant go wrong with the HW Justock for $49.99 shipped to your door

I run a Justock with my Thunderpower 8.5 and it works fine. Put the punch on level 2 24/78 and it rips. For 48.00 bucks cant beat it with a bat.

Very good to know. I have two justock esc's I picked up used here on rctech for $40 each for my two crawlers. I wasn't sure if they were up to snuff to run a 10.5 or 8.5 motor in something like a 1/10 SCT or buggy 2wd.

I have run LRP and I like the lights and ease of use for me. I am looking at new Reedy when it comes out but not even a blurb of news on it so far. Viper is cool, have one and the cap is cool space saver. Don't love Orange, BE editions are nice looking.

Maifield has never liked the gull wing arms, I think he changed them out on his SC and T4.2's right away.

Exotek weight compared to FT carbon strap would be nice to know. Like FT look better.

B5m with 2mm trailing is great for me with standard Ackerman. Love the car, can't wait to get more track time next week.

B5m came in at 1590, Lunsford screw kit, shorty, V2 slipper. Got FT carbon strap coming.

Any other tips on dropping weight for stock?
