Let's outline what "FT" means or did mean.
In recent years "FT" has added alloy rear hubs and hexes, both of which are unnecessary (If you're not going to adjust rear width the pin drive is adequate).
Also interesting to note, when was the last time AE offered a "Team" level B4 kit? If I'm not mistaken, that went away with the release of the B4.1, if not before.
Factory Team = strong Kool Aid.
- Graphite plastics - hasn't been the case since before the B4.1
- Threaded shocks - comes with this
- ti turnbuckles
- coated shock shafts

It looks like AE has all of the usual option parts, but I noticed there are not any alum rear hubs. I know they are not required, but thought it was a little odd in todays rc market. It is one of those things that sells, but does not help performance.

I'd like to see a pic with saddle packs installed. From the pics, the stock battery strap doesn't look like it would work all that great.
So, what's everyone doing for batteries? Saddle, shorties, or the new brick? I was thinking of buying so saddles so I can use them in other vehicles, but now I'm thinking shorties.

I am on the fence about the MM after reading what Maifield and the Engineer said. I find it very odd that they are not really trying to sell the MM as being for the masses. Yeah, I know MM is not for the masses, but I would feel better about buying a MM if they could at least lie to me, lol. Maifield says its a tire game. Well, I race outdoors on watered clay with mixed traction from heat to heat. If I have to look at the track and pick the perfect tire each time, I think I might be better off in RM. I will probably still get one, just to see for myself, but those guys are dashing my hopes. lol

It all works together. Tires are just the first step, probably the most important step because with out the proper grip level your suspension set up isn't doing what you're expecting it to.

yeah, the right tires are always important. You need those correct before tuning. I was more concerned about having to match the tire more closely to the ever changing traction. More so than the RM. I had a car once that was VERY tire sensitive. As the water evaporated through an 8 minute main, the car would go from locked in to 4 wheel sliding. Where as my B4 I could toss on tires that worked and run all day and only make minor changes to my line. Anyway, my point was that the AE driver and Engineer are not really "selling" the MM. They talked way more about how they maintained the b4 geometry on the RM, but also make jumping and easy of driving changes. I thought they made more of a case for the RM than a MM to the buyer. But he also said, we would only buy one car, because we will run the config that works locally. So, it seemed he was selling to the club racer that does not travel more so than the racer who does. Which is probably the best way to sell product. Way more slow locals than fast traveling drivers, lol.

Yes, but look at the strap. The strap is "Y" shaped and want I want to know is how securely the stock strap will hold down the saddle packs. It looks like the back outside corners of the packs won't have anything holding them down.
