Track is a 60/40 clay and dirt mix indoor track. I guess it would be considered a small track. Serpent mm and the b5m are popular but still some rm buggies as well.

If there's consistently enough traction I don't see why you wouldn't want to go MM unless the track is super tight....even then, when traction is good the B5M is very easy to drive and hard to beat.

To answer the question, make sure you are using your set grub screws
I have experienced it myself. I had a Thunder Tiger EB4, I took and shimmed some of the slop out of it and then I kept having issues with the front suspension binding up and then the steering. I put slop back in it and never had a problem again.

Just because I don't have 5,000 posts on a internet website, doesn't mean that I haven't been racing since 1985 and haven't seen some pretty weird things over the years.

There is a difference between being "tight" and too "tight" and would imagine the track conditions play into things as well. I guess maybe the guys that race indoors all the time wouldn't have issues with dirt binding up parts on a car, but on a large outdoor track that can be loamy and wet at times, it can happen. (yes the track was usually a mess).

I'm glad that I will be able to race at a nice indoor track now, I look forward to not having the insdie of my car full of dirt at the end of a heat.

Anyone tried the new carbon front towers from Exotek or Pro-Line? May help to stiffen the front up a little?

Hey guys, i'm new to the rc10b5 (im still debating on getting the rc10b5m conversion) - what are the general hop-ups to get, i'm at page 85 of this thread so far. There is a new track being built in my area, and i want to prepare myself, what do you guys recommend i start with?

- better ball cups?
- TI turnbuckles?
- Do i need a servo saver? Xray servo saver 2 fit?
- aluminum steering linkage?

i tried the exotek tower. made the front end much too stiff, although the car felt more consistent corner to corner with it. i ended up going back to the hard tower.

Car was fantastic, unfortunately I wasn't. A one year hiatus from off-road driving really took it's toll on my finishing position! Excited to get more familiar with this buggy.
My B5M pushed like a plow with the stock setup. I thought the slipper was flawless though. Changed the setup and now I have great steering, maybe even a little too aggressive on turn-in. Better than driving a plow though.

I'd get the Ti turnbuckles, which ever ones you like best. Then just buy more tires and practice, practice, practice...

You don't NEED any of the light weight items or aluminum items. Just drive the car and enjoy. If you break some stuff and want to upgrade later, do it just because you want to or you think it will make the car stronger. Don't do it because someone on the internet said you need all of these hop ups to go fast.

Have fun!

the alum steering is absolutely a waste of money. It is not even a weak part on the car. Get the Ti turnbuckles and tires. Nothing really else you need. I do like 1/2oz under the rack though. but that is cheap

I race high and medium bite tracks. When I go between the 2, I swap to the "correct" tires and I go up 1-2 spring rates in the front. The car is very responsive to changes. Way more so than the RM B5.

Yes, the car is very responsive to small changes. It lets you know right away if you have changed something in the wrong direction. It makes setting up quite a bit easier. I have had some buggies that just don't respond to changes well and it makes it hard to tell if you are helping the handling at all, or just chasing your tail.
