Has anyone else (excluding Wildcat as I know he doesn't like this kind of stuff) purchased the FT aluminium blue shock bushings?

I installed them last night but there is approximately 2mm of slop between the nut and the shock cap so effectively useless.

Has anyone else found this?

From what I understand is as long as there isn't up/down slop you are ok, I have the Schelle ones and the shocks move in/out on the bushing but up/down is good.

Either your shocks caps are extremely worn out or you possibly got incorrect parts. I just put those on my car because i got tired of replacing the schelle bushings everyother race day. Not exagerating either. Schelle ones are awesome design but bushing is no good. The FT ones snugged mine right up and i believe the part numbers are b5 specific.

And that blue shock spacer has a black plastic bushing that slides over it... that could be what you are missing.

If you are talking about movement fore and aft, I would say absolutely no issue.

I did the same thing when I first got my B5Ms. When you buy the FT shock bushings you also need to buy part # asc91447 which shows up as B5 shock bushing ball. I wish somebody has told me that too....I raced a while before I figured it out and honestly my lap times did not go up after I added the shock bushing balls.

lol, what me? Actually, I dont care for those sort of upgrades normally. I bought a used roller for my daughter and it had the FT standoff on it. And no it did not have 2mm of up and down play. Make sure you bought the inserts with the FT standoffs.

You have it right. There is nothing wrong with what you show in the video.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

What I am trying to rationalize is if the the original design (out of the box stock standard) called for no slop (shock on the right rear) which I agree with, then why release a FT version that allows for 2mm of slop.

More slop = less consistent and over time damaging to that part.

Either I've not installed it correctly or poor inconsistent design from AE.

the plastic caps do wear. My plastic caps have to be replaced every 5-6 months

I already gave you the part # you need to reduce the "slop". Do I need to post pics? All 3 of my b5ms have the bushing ball insert things....

Even if they were worn shouldn't there be equally as much slop on the standard brushing as the FT if the design was consistent?

mine are the same as yours. I would not worry about it. I also have some AVID standoffs. Same thing. I actually think your kit ones are a problem. My kyosho and tlr cars also floated front to rear.
