And what are the first pieces to upgrade? Are there any known failure points that should be replaced out of the kit?
First day out I bent a front turnbuckle. I replaced them with Lunsford, but Jconcepts are also popular (and they look cooler). I ran the skinny AE titanium turnbuckles on the front of my B4, but that car weighed under 1350 grams which might have helped.

The schelle/avid is.

If you're running 17.5, then go with the exotek eliminator.

Ah okay thanks. Pretty new to this thread so wasn't sure lol. Just wired mine up inline so wanted to ask some questions about setup. Gonna drive it for the first time on Friday.

What's wrong with the slipper? I've found it to be quite solid! What issues are others having? Post #1 didn't provide any insight.

The stock slipper is WILDLY inconsistent!
When it warms up it slips like crazy! You can even ask sponsored drivers.
In private they will tell you it is garbage.
That's good enough for me! I never ran it, put a triad in it when I built them!

Bit of an exaggeration there bud. While it is known to be a little inconsistent at times I have never heard anyone describe it as "WILDLY" inconsistent. Additionally, I've never heard it described as garbage, there are still a lot of races won on the stock slipper.

I don't disagree that there might be a better option out there but to say it is a mandatory upgrade or garbage is just putting wrong ideas in peoples heads.

I run 17.5 recently purchased a new motor. Same brand same turn however is slower than the one I replaced . The seal on the box was broken but did not think much as there was no solder and looked new. Reading I see where shops pick motors and piece together best parts. How much difference does it make to do that?

Where is the best place to buy the Avid?

And what does the Exotek Eliminator do?

Thanks!

Obvious question here: timing and rotor the same?

The question was about people's opinions... so he expected to get opinions in the replies. I personally think the stock slipper system is garbage. That isn't a wrong idea, it's an opinion.

Ok ya got me!
Then say a guy with 100% AE sponsorship that gets his AE stuff for free yet runs an Avid slipper (Pays out of pocket). Says it is wildly inconsistent (stock slipper).
I'm gonna listen to him. Call me crazy!

The slipper eliminator eliminates the slipper, making it direct drive with no driveline slip, that is if your diff is properly adjusted.

Wow, my stock slipper has been amazing. I run my slipper tight though and only use it to protect my diff.
