Very nice. I'll post up some pics when I get back from Disneyland. Mine weighed in at 1569 with a couple things still needed to be installed

The magic of stock is, you don't need all that to be competitive. Somewhere something went wrong for people to believe that.

Very true and many just don't get the fact that alot of it comes down to driving ability along with setup. I'm not the greatest driver but I have on many occasions beaten people with alot of money invested in their 2wd trucks with me driving my RC10T from the 90's.

The spending gives you an edge once you no longer crash and shaving 10ths off to gain positions. If you are last of 30 drivers, no amount of spending will get you to the A. That being said, some of this spending and weight savings is for 17.5. Most of us are used to running cars in the mid 1500's, but the B5M is freaking heavy stock. Plus AE dropped the ball on the slipper and bearings. So most people fix that stuff first. Also, locally we have what I call horse power jumps. Meaning if your heavy and down on power, your not going to clear it. And you will probably get roofed singling out. I have run on many many many different tracks since I picked up a controller. And the tracks I race at now, you need some horse power. And power to weight maters. Guys are doing wheelies with MM 17.5 cars. Where I was racing a year ago....none of the upgrades I have now would mater. Low bite, blown out jumps and inconsistent traction. You could spend all you like and it really would not help. At the tracks I race now...I does help...But it is not magic. your talking maybe a few tenths per lap for $200+. And that is if you can stay on all 4 wheels. A couple crashes and it wont mater. Because you can drop 10+ position in qualifying from a few crashes. We typically have ABC mains with the qual times from 1st to last is normally less than 10-15 seconds.

Stock racing is MUCH more competitive than mod in my opinion. If you make a mistake in mod, you can make up for it with motor. Make a mistake in stock, you go from first to last and you might not be able to get back to the top. Stock teaches you to be a better driver instead of teaching you that the guy with the biggest motor wins.

The point is, his car was a 22 2.0 practice car, which had zero lightened parts, less power than everyone else, and yet he still TQ'd.
IMO, spend your money on tires and practice time. Everything else is just for your street / interweb cred.
