A couple other benefits I have found to be nice are:

1) you can get to both endbell bearings without tearing down the motor
2) the motor is open enough that I think you could completely clean the motor without ever taking it apart
3) the curved and 90 degree bent solder tabs are nice

That motor was fast, no joke. Fast like chinese food through a fat guy.

I agree that the Fantoms are excellent. In general the D4 motors are awesome. The R1s are really good too....Shuurspeed makes a good motor. They all have their distinct advantages. The Shuurspeed comes with a 12.5mm rotor, the R1 is roar legal with a super zapped rotor, and the new Trinity's seem to like being geared tall while running cool.

Nope no caps, just using the internal bec on both my lrp speedo's. The low profile servos have been know for issues. But have yet to see a brown out from a 1257 or 1258 locally that wasnt the result of a bec being bad. The savox do use more juice and can be noisy. But for the price and performance a very good deal imo.

IME If you run a tekin speedo and savox servo, your gonna have issues, especially when paired with spektrum. If you run an LRP or orion or hobbywing or somethin along those lines no issues at all. Its a weak BEC that cant supply the voltage to the servo that its asking for and thats where you run into problems.

Hook up an external BEC to a tekin ESC, savox servo and spektrum radio and I would be wiling to bet there is no glitch

I agree about the tekin ESC. I run an r10 now with savox 1258tg and sr410 receiver and it works flawless.with my tekin gen2 it wouldn't work without a cap on the receiver. I still plan on ditching the spektrum for airtronics in a month or so

Been running asavox and tekin gen2 and rsx without any Brown outs. I wonder if it's all receiver related? I run futaba receivers not spektrums.

Everyone that tried those servos at our track had problems until they attached the glitch buster to their receiver(regardless of brand). A friend fried 3 got them replaced only to fry them again, then switched brands. I've never had an issue with the xp ds1015 or the ds1313.

With the brown outs, I have been running savox since I came back into the sport 4yrs ago. They are loud, yes. But the only time I experienced a glitch was a spektrum model is Jr R1 Spektrum module using the 3000 receiver. That was the only time I experienced it, was with that specific setup. I use Tekin gen 2 stuff now and I can watch my BEC voltage through data logging and I am never over 5.8V with Airtronics Mt4 and any of their receivers.

Got most of the way through my build last night! The only thing I have left are the shocks and electronics (of course) Couple thoughts on my build I'd like to share (probably not news to most of you)

1) I had one missing part... One of the long top shock mount 3mm screws.
2) Zero issues with the ballcups or ballstuds. They threaded on just fine with some black grease, and all 4 arms move freely (95% freely.. im sure they will get more free after a week or two of running)
3) I gotta say... this is probably the best kit build I have ever seen. Quality is on par or even higher than my kyosho builds. AE has really stepped up their game.
4) Great innovations throughout the car.
5) Could they have made the capture pins in the CVDs and the hex pins MORE similar?

Excited to get it on the track.

Manual shows two different part numbers... I think the hex pin is slightly thicker? not sure.
