The fence grabbed my left front tire and yanked it to a dead stop. You could here a loud crack and everyone on the driver's stand cringed. I knew it wasn't going to walk away front that one. Carnage report, bulkhead snapped and pulled through the top plate and kick up plate with a bent front left turn buckle.

The nice thing about the B5M is that you can replace those three parts fairly cheap. If that was the B5 RM or or the B4.X you'd be replacing a chassis in addition of the other two parts in addition to having to un-mount and re-mount your electronics.

You guys have something to understand , my cat dump my digital off the desk, its broken....

So I can't give you a image of the mod easy like

I'm gona try to get someone else to go though the trouble for all of you.

Its important, already know from the first test run most of you will like to do.

GTI grey way to stiff for your rear, you need green and switch back to middle hole.
If you feel like it try white rear. I Doublt you will even like compared to green.

Your gona find the B5 has mass grip & like us will be working for more steering & less stall in the corners..

And

middle holes on b5 towers are like the inside holes on b4 .

GTI

I let Harley drive it too, he liked the steering.

The best part about the inline is it elimates the too planted feeling and kills the stall in the corner.
You won't have to push the car as hard to maintain corner speed.

Car is good no matter what. But, all ya really did here was move your Rx.

Your ESC is certainly heavier and still up front. Most have been cutting the plastics, moving the ESC as far back as possible and then mounting the RX just in front of the ESC. Doing so will actually get the weight further back in the vehicle. I will be doing mine inline finally soon.

Ridgerunner

Were placing the esc under the water fall, receiver on right side.
You'll have grind the inside middle legs off the water fall in order to make room for esc so battery fits.
Were also grinding off the battery box so the chassis can flex more right in front of water fall.

A image will help you understand better how to grind the battery box and thumb screw mounts.

Soon hopefully I'll get it posted.

So moving all the components inline on the B5M is kinda like what they're doing with the 22 2.0? Running it with a shorty up against the motor (no waterfall brace) and all electronics on the chassis. If so, it's interesting to see both cars switch to a configuration like this and why one or both of them didn't come that way from the factory.

Looking forward to the results. I did turn in some 4wd lap times yesterday with the MM So I know I'm on to something. Would like to try white/white but I think it'll just end up in traction rolling end of straight. Like someone mentioned, we have way more traction than most people can even imagine @ TRCR, and at certain times of the day,TRCR has even more that Mikes in B'ham does. For example, we have this little bump on the straight as you enter it and I have t be very careful with the RM but even the MM did some wheelies!

Debating this inline mod. I already run my battery all the way foward. Doing the inline mod is similar your moving the weight foward. I'm assuming that's were you getting your more steering from. But get more of a inline weight balance with the battery inline

Anyone lap times drop on doing this mod??

this is starting to remind me of the tlr22 mod fest to make the car good. The car should be great out of the box IMO, like the RM car

Every B5M I have seen, were stock, and the owners raved about the car!

IMHO some people just have to tinker with stuff. I just got mine built and haven't ran it yet. Big test in 2 weeks as my first race will be at a big race!

Same for me. Mine is box stock and will stay that way. I absolutely love the car the way it sits. And for basic sportsman class it's awesome.

Nah, I'm not too serious when it somes to racing. I'm a front/middle of the pack guy that races in the sportsman class. I just have fun and work on being consistant for the most part.

That's a great way to look at it. Yes,tinkering is fine but I think there are some in this thread who apparently get off on saying the things they are testing are the best/only way to do things.

Don't go by me if you like, but still think white in the rear is max ....

Car ran well, same over all time as usual , was scuffing in fresh tires though.

I like the set up..
A little less traction but more stable , you can driver harder into the corner with out the car stalling.

Tip

Discovered you may like to use the Hard rear camber mount when using the alloy hubs for extra grip. Alloy camber mount + alloy rear hub = less grip.
Also

Alloy hubs

Don't tighten down the set screw very hard as it can blind if to tight.
