I don't think I've *EVER* broken a turnbuckle on any car since I got back into RC in 2008. Serious. That's 1/8 scale and 1/10 scale. I just figured they made 'em outa some better metal than before, because in the 90s they were bend bend break all the time, even the TI ones.
I saw a local with 4 bent turnbuckles on his b4.1. I myself have bent the front and rear camber links. Mind you, I had to put them on a glass table to see the bend, but it was enough to make setting camber a little harder. But the AE turbuckles were always easier for me to thread on that the Lunsfords. I just always figured, they were a little thicker.

For those who are curious, Chad Due posted on the rc10B5 nation Facebook page that he ran his setup posted on rc10.com at motorama.

heck, I remember back in the day when I had a losi XXT CR that you could bend the stock turnbuckles by just driving the vehicle in the street, no jumps, etc. just during turns

Was almost a requirement to go lunsford back in the day. Never snapped a lunsford, bent them though. Have snapped AE titanium ones.

I have heard that the B4 turnbuckles work, but they do have a B5 kit from lunsford, is there something specifically different about them?

The B5 Lunsford turnbuckles are shorter than the stock 2" links.

I think Cherry's "leg humping" comments were a bit out of line IMHO.

Back to the B5:

So the Jconcept Fin turnbuckles are a sure fit then? /s

almost 200 pages, I learned about turnbuckles and if Cherry has a B5.

can we move onto actual tuning...

I love my B5, stock set-up im as fast as my B4 but more consistant. im running a saddle in the fwd position, the car pushes and doesnt seem to roll. looks flat going around the track. thinking im gonna go to the A hub down and a 1mm spacer in the rear, white springs with 1.6 pistons and 30wt. front and rear. any thoughts on this change or other things to look out for?

The stock B5 kit turnbuckles are the standard black steel 3mm type as seen on the B4. I ordered and used a B4 FT set of 6 blue titanium on the B5. I know the B5 manual says they are 2.06 long, but holding the steel ones against the B4's 2.00 turnbuckle, I see no difference in length. They worked out great.
