Thx
I won't use the pm here ....
But would be happy to help you out.

I have a good team mate that drives the 22 .

Will get his set up and post it on the 22 thread after I get the details.

lol... you guys are funny..

its fun having a cool car and if you feel that taking weight off makes you way faster then I am all for it.

but guys like cherry and bob and wildcat also have points.. a little weight especially when a car is balanced and a good setup can also be fast.. or even faster .. if the weight settles the car down and adds just a little traction going into and thru and out of a corner.. even if its just 1/4 a second per corner.. with an average track having 8-12 corners you may find yourself going 2-3 seconds a lap faster :-)

having a car that's set up to your liking, being able to drive fast without crashing and also learning how to preload to clear jumps like triples coming out of a corner that others find hard to do are all important as well. wont matter what your car weighs if you crash 3-4 times in a race.

point is.. do what you like and have fun doing it.. ;-)

Take it easy, guys!

Remember, if there is somebody you are tired of seeing, use the ignore feature. Plain and simple. I am all for calling somebody out, but lets do it in a productive manner, within the rules.

Ok, back to the B5m.

Anyone run a B5M on a carpet off-road track? Any comparisons to the rear motor B5?

We just started some carpet off-road in our area. We're running on Ozite carpet with small jumps. The traction is extremely high, unlike anything I have ever experienced on dirt...

Thinking this might suit the B5M.

Thoughts?

I really have a difficult time with the term "Carpet Off-road"

Perhaps we should have a contest to name this genre.

My choice "On-road with jumps" Pronounced like a Finnish rally driver "yumps"

if your racing the stock nats with the mid.. then I would drill out some plastic parts that mount to the chassis and use all the light parts.. your car will be as light as you want it to be.

also know how to tune your motors and have the best batteries you can get your hands on.. but for most of the people on here they wont need that.
But I AM saying is that these guys are asking for help losing weight not a lecture on how your a better driver and tuner.

As for my car, I could be (and will be at the Stock Nats in the +40 buggy class) right next to Sean C on the scale, my chassis protector alone is 14g. I'm trying to help answer someones direct question.

Maybe sometime you can make it out to So Cal for the race and bring your weights and see how you fair?

If only ignore would block his quoted replies as well!

Kevin, you've been warned!

I tried that and it works!
Still running box stock set-up except 27.5 wt in the rear shocks and 3mm trailing.

Uh oh...
I did this on my rear motor car, I don't have a MM car yet. Forgot which thread I was on! My bad!

On a tuning note, for those that have acquired the aluminum rear ballstud mount, I'm sure you noticed it doesn't match the stock plastic one. I spoke with Kody today and he says that it is +2mm/-2mm depending on which way you install it. (I'm sure you guys can figure out which is which).

Commence spewing ignorance WC.
