Millhouse...

Most of the stock guys just cut their old body. You just have it cut on both sides.

I talked to a guy today that was racing the 3 gear trans at the Kyosho race at RC clubhouse...he had both a 3 gear B5m and a 4 gear B5m...he said he cant tell a difference....he runs typically in the top 3 in A main..I decided im not wasting the money on the mod now. With that being said there were several guys running the 3 gear setup in stock class. It didnt seem to help them win the race though.

In expert stock , there are 12 out of 15 who run the 3 gear tranny. The body cut on both sides gives better cooling as well.

I am having problems with binding ball cups. I have tried pinching the ball cups. I put the ballstud in the drill and spin inside of ball cup. i even used a body punch and tried to bore the cups out a bit more to free them up. They just fit so tight on the ball stud it is causing the suspension to bind.

I am out of ideas. Do they make aftermarket ball cups or even ballcups and ball studs that I can change out to make it more free. They are locked together great but they should not bind.

Pinching them with pliers works. You just have to squeeze pretty hard. You should see the hole elongate when you are squeezing them. If you can't then you aren't pinching them hard enough.

Maybe I am not pinching them correct.
I have been pinching them from the top and to pinch from the side of them.
Is that correct? Also should i pinch them with the ball stud in the cup or out?

Pinch them with the ball stud in the cup. Squeeze hard enough and u can see the cup actually stretch out.

I didn't think about the cooling. Good point. Thanks.

It won't elongate the cup, just the hole on top temporarily. There is a video on the first post of this thread. It shows the whole process, watch that and then post up any more questions you may have, but it's pretty thorough.

I have two videos on the first page that should help you. I found needle nose to not have enough leverage, so I had to use a more blunt-nosed pair that gave me more pressure.
