I have the CE edition car which is an aluminum shaft... I could be wrong but I thought I saw somewhere there wasn't any gain in switching it out.

Isn't the factory lite top shift the same?

I think I'm going to order so I can get some candy!

there really isn't weight wise...but what he's recommending is the slim downed top shaft. It has a similar width to that of the cut gears.

I looked on their site and didn't see it. Just the B5 cut gears and top shaft. Are they the same? I don't know anything about the standard B5 and only very little about the B5M

This is the top shaft he is talking about pairing with the cut idler/diff gears. The cut gears site lists the old top shaft I believe.

Ok, looks like that one is trimmed to match the shaved trans gears?

Anyone know of a place we can get the cut gears and mip top shaft? I'd love to save on shipping! And caged thrust and ceramic bearings...

Doubt it... I think speedy RC is about the only game for shaved gears and they don't sell anything else.

I do the same thing. I pop the pins out of the clip, place the wires back and forth over each other then put heat shrink on it. Take a photo of the order of the pins in the clip.

I thought about shortening them and even have the extra pins and clips to do so. I decided to keep them the original length for resale and in case I wanted to use it in another application.

Waterfall fan mount question: Anyone use these? Prime or Shapeways? Also, there are different sizes? Any tips on how much temps are down and weight addition much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not a huge fan (lol) of the waterfall mounts available...You pretty much have to run the Finnisher body, they dont work well with the silencer bodies. So I made my own, I hollowed out the stock waterfall and picked up the Schumacher KF2 fan mount. Mounted it to the cradle and attached a 25mm fan. When i initially started running with a fan it dropped temps roughly 25º.
