Kinda timid to try something new since I know all the little tip and tricks from running them for 10 years.
I was in the exact same boat. Had a losi 22 2.0 before my b5m haven't regretted nor looked back.

Really, overall technology today is such that most high-end products from competing manufacturers of a given industry are so close in most ways, if you know one, you can easily learn a competitor's product with minimal effort.

If you know how to set up a Losi car, you can set up an Associated car. HOWEVER, having owned both brands dating back to the original RC10 and the JRx2 (yes been doing this for a VERY long time), of their modern offerings, I think you will acclimate to the B5 so easily because the car is just flat out better in how it performs. That slight push the 22 always tends to want to exude isn't present in the Associated cars and the car goes where you want it to. If you know what tires work best on the 22 for your local tracks, the same tires should be even better on the Associated car because it is generally an easier platform to drive.

I bought a 22 and spent all the money to buy every single upgrade part for it and tuned and tweaked it endlessly looking for that magic adjustment that would make the car turn the way I was used to and in the end, the only adjustment that did it was trading it for a B4.2. Even with all the slop on that thing it was just easier to drive and set up, though I removed 85% of the slop by replacing all ball Balls and cups with TLR ones all around.

Hope this helps ease your mind and talk you off the fence.

I'm running the PRS1 currently and I love it but with Associated's improved quality with the B5 and the new Laydown Tranny, I am going to buy one and compare. If it's as good as it seems, I will sell my son's PRS1 and by himont too and one for my wife.

If not, YZ-2 or PRS1 V3, here I come! LOL

I'm pretty sure they will.

Having won the Worlds last week, they have a responsibility to make the car available to their paying customer base. After all you can't claim you offer the best product and not offer the actual winning version.

I'm still waiting for the RC10 stealth car.

It's only been 25 years. I'm sure it's bound to come out soon.

BTW, as per your first sentence...who from AE told you they will, and how are you aware of internal policies? Do you work there?

But the guy above said they are going to? Someone needs to inform the team manager of AE that "the incubus" has inside information, obviously from someone higher than Brent that they will definitely sell it. Because they "owe" it to us.

Random question, but does AE usually release a "World's car" after winning the title?

As stated, AE has always released a worlds variant. No reason to think this won't be any different.
Market trends dictate what companies produce for sale and this makes perfect sense. First the B5M's FLEW off the shelves, then the Lite version was released and those are selling well but no with all other major competitors producing a lay down tranny variant of their 2WD buggies AE would be the odd man out.

As well, I seem to remember not that long ago that AE would never produce a MM buggy of their own and shortly there after began selling the most popular conversion for their car and then, full steam ahead on the B5M which has now seen 2 models and is outselling the RM variant.

Regardless of whom said what, mark this page for WHEN the lay down variant is released.

Hm, still waiting for the RC10 Stealth car, the RC10B2 worlds car, and the RC10B3 worlds car.

With this logic, I expect Mercedes to release a version of the F1 car that they've just won the constructors championship with so that you and I can buy one. It's their responsibility to offer this to their paying customer base.

The Red conversion is different from what Rivkin had in his car.
What he had in his car was crude and simple on the exterior by comparison.
