Not on my personal vehicle, cause I dont have them yet, but on my friends car in mod with a 3 gear diff, I noticed a bit more forward bite, with less stepping out of the rear end (harder cornering can be achieved). I ordered 2 of only the C mounts to try and lock in the rear of my FT Lite and SC5M a bit more.

I mainly use the C brass mounts on low/med grip tracks on my lite to get more traction. I don't really use the D brass, as having more weight right at the back tends to make the car swing out more in a corner once traction breaks so it's harder to catch with the brass D vs the stock plastic or alum. D mount.

Got back from my first trip on a highgrip clay track. Everythings went perfect but after I got the readings of my ESC I feel quite uncomfortable:

Max. Temperature 57°
Max Amperage: 81A

Should I be worried? I am driving a GM Genius Race II 80R and a Sonic Mach2 8.5T (Pinion 22 teeth).

Looks fine to me! Keep it under 160* F and your good to go! So under 72*C.

I meant 58°C (Germany - metric!). I thought the Amperage ist more of a problem? Or: Why is it not?

Lets turn this discussion back to the 4 gear. This time of the year we go from very high traction blue groove to wet dirt. Both of the B5Ms that I've been using were a handful to drive once the traction was reduced, even after making setup changes. I decided to go back to a box stock lite but found one already like new but with a 4 gear. After it arrived I made some basic changes and its on the cut now! When traction drops the 4 gear feels way better! You can feel the difference in snap but otherwise its better. I'm almost done with a 4 gear T5M. I bet that's going to feel even better than the B5M. I've always said that I liked the 4 gear feel better but I was too chicken to put one back in and compare....I wish that I had. The 4 gear should not be discounted as a tuning option.

So does a 4 gear transmission give alot more traction than a 3 gear?

I agree, it is a great tuning tool.
