Was bulding my lite today and had a problem with one of the rear hexes. the threads for the set screw stripped out so I have to go buy a new set tomorrow. pretty disappointing. Other than that the build has gone smoothly. gonna finish the shocks tomorrow.

Looks sweet man! I see your super close to me! I will probably be seeing you at peg!

Another note I was looking on MIP website and saw there is 2 different puck systems for the b5m. Which one would be the right one?

This one

Or this?

Top one (Regular) is for stock buggy.

Bi-metal is made for 17.5 and faster motors.

Same here. Both set screws snapped. They are only 1.6mm screws. Emailed AE...no response for 4days. Not like AE

Thanks a lot! I will be seeing if my LHS has it in stock if not I will order them and have them brought in.

I talked to the shop about the clear x-rings and he said they don't make that big of a difference. I also asked about the "fox" shock bodies and he said the same about them to. What are your guys opinions that are running them? I just want this car setup from the start. I know I should run it stock but I can never leave anything stock!

Yeah i had an old set of aluminum hexes from my b5m and they dont fit. tried the set screws from them and those are too big. I dont understand why they would make the screws smaller. Makes no sense.

I have spare axles and hexs from my B5 RM. They've never failed my in 12months. I'll only be running stock so no need for the new HD axles.

Funny...HD axles with piss weak hex set screws

I hear ya. As of right now I am just practicing there on wed nights. I take my kids there so they can learn the track. I will be there next wed for sure.

I am just waiting for my motor to come in there and then need to get a new battery strap and figure out how I want to do the electrics.

I snapped one off, don't have to tighten very tight I guess but they need to be a little thicker for sure.

Motor/Esc - Hobbywing Justock 8.5T possibly 10.5 combo
Servo - Savox 1257TG .07 speed/138oz torque
Lipo - 2s SMC 5800mah Square Pack
Tire - Rear Proline bowties/blockades or Jconcepts Goosebumps (Loose outdoor track)
Front Not sure
Pinion - Not sure for gearing with the Hobbywing and stock spur of the B5M I guess it will depend on motor as well.

Does this seem okay? This is my first 2wd buggy and I know it can get a bit cramped inside for the electronics. Is there anything at all I need to consider on top of what I listed? Will be ordering online.
Any input on this guys?

They should have just kept using the same set screws from the old hexes.

As long as your receiver isn't huge, everything should fit just fine
