Is anybody running a b5m 17.5 with the Orion speedo and new stock firmware. If so what are your settings, specifically on brake force.

For you guys who have spent a ton of money making a lightweight car this is mine BOX stock with LRP spin, jr reciever, turningy 4200 shorty and savox lo pro servo. I have a top shaft and screws coming but not planning anything else. Super light doesn't mean super fast.

Are cut gears ROAR legal?
Everything I am doing on my car would need to pass ROAR, the last thing I want is a DQ for something as simple as cut gears.

I apologize for the noob question but what advantage do cut gears give?

Cut gears are lighter weight for less rotating mass which gives better acceleration.

Yes they're legal.

Less friction and a little less rotating mass.

Unless you HONESTLY have a shot at winning the Stock Nats, you don't need them IMO. I doubt 99.9% of people on here could tell a difference in back to back testing anyway, but they'll never tell you that.

My eye site is not good chasing the thrust bearing balls all over the pit table and the carbide ones will last longer.

I am lucky enough to be sponsored by Ray and I will tell you that performance wise I don't feel the cut gears alone change speed. What they do in my opinion is put less load on the motor and you in turn can gear what you run more aggressive. They are a tuning device like anything else. I run them, I did before I was sponsored, and believe in them. I've never damaged a set yet and I run his eliminator as well. Do Ti axles alone make the buggy faster? Do Ti turnbuckles? No. They are a tuning device. Some swear by them and others don't.
