They're durable too. If money is that tight I'd focus on stuff like buying good foams with your tires. I think that's the #1 thing people don't do. I know....I buy 2 of everything, weigh it, replace it, buy another.....etc. People that know me are probably thinking "look who's talking"! I buy everything available [pretty much] for my cars and I can tell you almost all of it is 0 value added. The bling makes you feel better but doesn't do much for your car. Once again, this advice is coming from a guy who will buy almost anything shiny. If it was me, I'd buy a car, drive it, tune it, and then make incremental changes one at a time. If you run stock, weight reduction can make your car faster (not necessarily you), if you're mod you can motor up to where weight is a moot point.

Just my opinion.
Personally the gearbox bearings are a JOKE unless they've made a running change the first batch was like having onboard drag brake, if I'd let off the gas it would slow down dramatically! Schelle bearings in and it will roll for days with no other changes. As far as the rear camber block those are KNOWN to break quite easily. Otherwise I agree the cars are great out of the box! I changed to the AE front hexes because I just didn't like the stock axles and their narrow hex. Personal preference there! Otherwise my cars are pretty much stock except the finned turnbuckles, just liked them!

Do you think the ceramics are worth it or just the regular bearings from schelle.

Thanks!

As far as radios go, I use an M12 and have an MT4 for my 4x4 SC and as a spare. I've used them all. The KO Eurus is the most comfortable but I had the modules go and the rxs have a fragile crystal in them that is prone to breaking. The KIY was a novel idea. You can't go wrong with a 4PK s/r/x....whatever Futaba is on now. Futaba makes good stuff. The Spektrum is entry level....I'll leave it at that. I use to really hate the Airtronics radios. I especially hated the M11 so its quite a surprise that I absolutely love everything about the M12. Taking my new found fondness of Airtronics a step further I'll go out there and say that the MT4 is the best radio you can get for your money. Its like a baby m12 for half the cost. If I had a budget that's what I'd buy.

For the price you can't beat a Savox 1257 or 1258. I've had one of those Protek servos do weird things....it acted like an old JR servo when the centering pin in the servo case would break or wear, the servo would constantly try to find center....it looked like it was glitching whenever the car was still.

I had that same issue with a Protek 100ss. I have a JR 9100s so I know that jitter problem all to well. But the JR is over 5yrs old, the Protek started that after a few race weekends.

I 've never had that problem with the 100ss but then again I've never bought one. For the most part I use the KO RSX servos or Savox....or a Futaba if I have one. I think the Futaba is the most under rated servo made, Like I said a post or two above, they make good stuff.

One last thing that I want to point out is that I actually have all the stuff that I recommend and some of the stuff that I don't like. I'm more than happy to post pics of stuff that I'm putting to use. I have a few Savox 1251's that bit the dust. Those are terrible for off road. If anybody wants one that needs a gearset I'll give it to you if you pay shipping.

I haven't broken a wing mount either, but I did break a chassis plate. It broke at the skinny part right under the gearbox. The buggy is pretty darn durable. It's my first 2wd buggy and I've crashed MANY times lol. I'm talking some really rough ones and only a chassis plate =D

So the airtronics receivers fit in the B5m? My spektrum 4210 is a very tight fit.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you. The wing mount broke from about 5ft high right onto the rear... One of those perfect wrong angle kinda of things...
