Thanks for the help on the alum hexes guys. Sorry to change gears on you but what mod motor have you guys run in your b5M? Like? didn't like? Have a few suggestions say between 8t and 10.5t? Somewhat budget friendly...

Is it worth getting the lite as opposed to buying a used b5m for half the price? Im not a pro and plan on racing stock. I get to the track about twice a month.

One word, No.

Fantoms are very nice. If you want to save money on one, whenever a new version comes out, you can pick up the predessecor at a discounted rate. Customer service is great as well. Reedys are nice too. Plenty of good choices out there

Is anyone running the lrp super shorty battery in stock? If so how are they holding up at the end of a run?

Trackpower makes a 3250 which I like better. It has great punch and lasts just fine, stock or mod, for our 7 minute mains.

I'm looking into the lrp super shorty as a tuning option more than anything. I run a rear b5 and being able to run it sideways allows for a lot of weight adjustment.

I've got 4 of the 100C 4.5 amp hour shorty packs that I run on our indoor carpet track. I run a 13.5 motor in my B5M, 10.5 in my T5M and a 10.5 in my wheeler. I can practice for nearly 20 minutes with any of them. I've run the B5M and wheeler in 10 minute mains with no noticeable drop off in power at the end.

I've got some big Venom 4S packs and they've been great as well. Even had a cell go bad in one of them after 6 months and got a replacement from Atomik without any hassle. Just had to take a picture of individual cell measurements with my multi-meter then a picture of the batt sitting in a salt water bath after the water turned nasty looking.

Having said all that, I'm pretty sure you can get batteries just as good for less money. My LHS stocks the Venom and one of the ways I try to support him is by buying my batteries there.

Also, Venom says you're only supposed to charge them at 1C. I think that's ridiculous so I charge at 2C and don't have any problems. If I have a problem with one and need warranty help I'll tell them that and see what they do.

Just picked up a Lite kit and am nearly done, but have a few questions.

Wondering if anyone can tell me the effect of running the battery in the front of the tray vs the back of the tray?

Also wondering about the rear wing. There is a spacer that angles it a few different ways, and the manual doesn't detail how the different positions affect handling or what all the options are.

The ball stud that connects servo was not cut to accept a hex driver, just round inside. Is that a defective part?

Default B5M Lite for mod class

Contemplating whether to buy the new B5M Lite for mod on Astroturf.

Any advice?

Just picked up the 100c. The people who use them swear by them. I'm afraid with the smaller mah packs they will drop off slightly. Not to mention it was the perfect height for the battery strap. Thanks for the reply
