He used to respond to my PMs..... until I went off on him about a slipper changing off power steering in a 2wd car.

Once tightened, check the play of the ball diff. If it still wiggles too much, un-screw the case again and add a shim or 2 depending on how much room you think it is moving. There should be a little wiggle side to side when the case is all together tightened as normal. Just putting the case together and holding it by hand will not give you the correct effect. Add or subtract shims as needed. Again, should not be tight..need play. They also make shims (McMaster carr) that also fit the input shaft to eliminate play. These need to be put in between the input shaft flange (where the bearing rests)and the bearing
NOT between the bearing and the case on the end of the gear side of the input shaft (22 teeth side) as this doesn't work.
Search McMaster Carr for the correct shims.bi found some HPI trans shims that worked perfect from the Blitz. Hope that helps.
Thanks. I've got 6-8mm to make up for, would be better off with spacers than shims. I also found that the B5 diff is supposed to have 14 balls, this one has 12 which tells me it's definitely not correct.

I'll be ordering all new diff parts, thinking of the MIP rebuild kit however with the price I doubt the diff balls are carbide.

If you have 12 balls, the diff is from the B4 buggy. It will work, just needs shimming.

It's 4/20 and the 5bm_Lites are not showing in stock on Tower/Amain still. I had a thought the other night of canceling my preorder and getting the Yokomo YZ2 instead.

Do it. I am sure you will end up regretting that OCRC has them as does many hobby shops.

Tower has them now! In Stock Limited Quantities now.

So our back orders should be covered if they display that to the public.

I cannot cancel and re-enter online as I asked them to consider giving me the e-cash that is on this week, they did not get back to me today on that. Likely they won't on a back order placed Feb 11th. I could earn $20 on this purchase towards a first week of May extra discount if I just ordered it today right now! Oh well, not going to fool around if there is next to none in stock after our back orders.

That's what I am paying too. But you will likely get a nice $20 certificate e-cash promo for use on another order on May 6 to 12 I think. I am going to load up and line up for the 4PX radio and the RC8B3 for those promotions to help buy extra receivers for that radio.

They way it seems to me we should get the e-cash. From what I recall it's payments that clear within the time frame. If easy pay orders don't qualify because the payment isn't processed in the time frame, then this should. Tower probably doesn't see it this way though.

Now the question of the day is what warehouse receive them? Don't want to wait 2 weeks for UPS to ship them.

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm hoping the Illinois or Indiana one and not the Nevada one. My guess is Nevada.

Nevada would be much better! Might make UPS feel like they better hurry for once. They always take SOOO long compared to the competitors.
