doubtful. that is listed as the T5M tranny. maybe they adjusted the tolerances or just made a case that was best suited for the truck.

Yeah, and if it was moved forward, there is no room since the motor would have to more forward too, that would require a new chassis and side cradle guards.

I wonder if the truck will have a slightly different ratio? Maybe that would be the reason for a gearbox change.

It dosn't say anything about size or ratio. It just says a lighter top shaft, higher quality gears and bearings, and is a 14 ball diff now to make it more reliable and more torque efficient. I hope it works in the buggy platform.

Kody mentioned that what is holding the 3 gear tranny up is that they wanted to get the mesh perfect and that it required adjusting things a few times. This is probably what the V2 is for as well. They say that it is now a 14 ball diff because the previous truck had a 12 ball diff, the buggy is already a 14 ball diff.

I like your girlfriend... my wife walked into the study and said whats going on how come you are having more and more cars... are they self replicating?

Correct I wasn't referring to the buggy and the 14 balls. I just think it would be awesome if I could carry a spare tranny that worked in both cars without any mods. That's what I meant I should have clarified.

Maybe the V2 transmission is a rolling change? My B5M is just a month old and it has the gears pictured for the T5M. Not sure about the top shaft, though.

I would be they are moving away from the 6x12 topshaft to 5x10mm bearings. The 6x12mm were removed for the B5M 3-gear transmission.

The B5 already rocks the 14 ball diff.

I can't imagine AE is going to make the tranny any different on the any of the "5" platforms. They were all interchangeable on the last platform. I think the only difference is the stronger grey idler gears.

My B5m kit from almost a year ago came with those improved gears.
