With my 13.5 I run a 31/69 gearing. For 17.5 i'd run a 33/69

69/32 here only because no 33's on the wall. Everyone is running a 33 here.

And I'm running stock, since it's our biggest class. I just don't get the weight reasoning lol.

What weight savings can I expect with a slipper eliminator? Ti Turnbuckles? Aluminum screws?

Also, I did the flat front arm and tower conversion, what is this rear conversion for? What does it do, exactly?

Does anyone know if the actual overall size of the gears in the transmission are the same as the older generation models? I'm ordering a set of cut gears for my b5m and I'm wanting to lighten up my sc10 as well. Can I put all the b5m (minus an idle gear of course) transmission gears in my sc10 case? Or is it possible to swap out the entire transmission case with my b5 rear motor case?

I would hold off on cut gears, the 3 gear transmission is right around the corner.

Here is a video of a friend of mine running his B5M on our local medium bite track. This layout is a MM car dream.

Why wouldn't I just be able to swap them out to the 3 gear tranny case?

Exactly, 3 gear doesn't eliminate the benefit..

And is not synonymous with running cut gears. The 3gear tranns is going to swap the motor position as well, which will drastically change how the car drives in other ways. It MAY not be what you want.

In my opinion.. cut gears aren't necessary in the slightest.

Is the lightened top shaft a common upgrade only for stock? I never see it listed on setup sheets. Thinking maybe the extra weight in the rear is a good thing for mod.

Tuning the weight of the car in general is maybe the biggest change you can make in how your car drives, second to only your tires. Mod and Stock will/can benefit from having a car who's weight is where it needs to be to perform best on the track. Sometimes that is lighter... sometimes that is heavier.

I would say running the lightened top shaft in particular, is less about reducing weigh of the car, and more about reducing rotating mass... which certainly benefits spec racing more.

I didn't trim the spacers. When you tighten the shock it will force the plastic guide over the lunsford piece. No binding and you're good to go

hey guys i am having a little problem with my car. i built it a few weeks ago, polished all ball studs and all the arms move freely as they should. i have ran 3 packs through the car. i noticed my front shocks were not returning all the way so i removed them and changed the fluid and made sure there was no air in there. I also made sure the shaft moved freely from all the way compressed to all the way extended. and it does move in and out freely with no binding and sticking. now i bolted the shocks back onto the car, and they still stick. the return almost all the way out but then stick. has anyone else had this problem and what should i do? thanks
