Absolutely beautiful buggy. Had a FT B4 back in 2003, always wondered what the B5 would look like...
These B5s almost look FT, the shocks have threaded bodies? Wonder why anyone would need the FT version after this?
The battery packs are weird, I would've thought the stick packs would work better? Doesn't keeping the weight centralized make the buggy more predictable? Or does spreading out the weight more evenly across the chassis like on this new B5 chassis the thing to do nowadays?

+1 on previous post about handling characteristics and application difference between MM and RM. I haven't ran 2WD Buggy in quite a while, but with the release of these new cars I hope to get back to 1/10 offroad racing.

I'm no expert nor have I driven a MM. But basically its like mid motor real cars. Because the mid motor has a more balanced weight distribution between the front and the back it is able to go into a corner faster and carry the speed better than a rear motor. The rear motor is able to put a lot more power down on exit. But mm is the popular right now because pro 1/10 buggies have been on clay and sugar tracks all year. People say MM if you have traction and RM if you dont, basically.

The opportunity of MM is less pendulium effect from the motor being behind the rear axle. By having a more even weight distribution more corner speed can be achieved bwfore one end of the car breaks traction.
More weight forward does not add steering, it takes it away (more weight = overwhelmed traction). This is why 4wd cars have wider front tires. As MM evolves expect front wheel/tire combos that take advantage of that.

can anyone recommend a good 5.5mm driver that is short handled and deep walled. The b5 used those screws with a nut, so I think a deep socket will be needed and the front tower is reversed, so it would need to be short. In fact, there might not be one that will work aside from the little alum t handled one.

metric finally
i am really glad AE have gone metric on this new buggy- i have always wanted to 'convert' my B4.2 to metric to carry less spares around.
Keen to see the manual so i can decide if i can convert the B4.2 to metric to have a fairly current RM now that the MM is on order.
Anyone else thought about converting their B4.2 to B5 spec once the breakages/wear 'n tear bits need replacing?

Here is the release on the 6.2, which has been typical of AE, with a release date at the bottom. All the new kits I have seen have a eta.
