The point is, his car was a 22 2.0 practice car, which had zero lightened parts, less power than everyone else, and yet he still TQ'd.

IMO, spend your money on tires and practice time. Everything else is just for your street / interweb cred.

If you're constantly finishing 5th with a fat/heavy 1600+ gram B5m, year old Lipos, charging at 10 amps, running a last gen 17.5, behind 4 guys with $500+ in upgrades and equipment. You might be in a position to benefit from spending some money. If you're not that 5th place guy, why spend the money?? Could that money get you from the top of the C to the back of the B main, maybe but what then? You still need to work on your driving, or you've simply run out of talent and you'll never be an more than a B main at best driver no matter how much money you spend. But people, some people, don't like to hear that.

Money doesn't get you to the top, it cost money to stay there.

Yes its absolutely imperative to read all 541 pages of this thread or you will have a very hard time building the kit.

J/K just follow the manual and pay attention to the details. Make sure nothing binds up and everything moves how it should. Polishing the balls on the turnbuckles and make sure they are bind free will help a ton. I have never owned a offroad buggy and just followed the manual and used some basic know how and common sense and did just fine. Mine works great.

I remember seeing Chris run that TQ on LiveRC, then he disappeared. Now I know the story, thanks for posting. I knew Chris when he was young and just starting out, getting dropped off at the track.

Paul Lemieux was a "hang around kid" at Trackside when he was young from what I was told. Look where he went. Moral of the story, you never know who the next "fast guy" might be.

I just put together a journal of my build. There are some videos in there as well. Hopefully it helps you along the way.

Beating me is nothing to write home about. Bing won't ever run 17.5 again LOL.

Got the Avid Triad slipper in today and installed, very nice piece!

Still waiting on my MIP aluminum top shaft to finish it off, but I race tomorrow so I needed to have the car in one piece.

RcBuddah now has post #1. He has a great revised post with a LOT of valuable links. Look for it soon. I admit, I used his #1 post to get some info on the car during my preview of it
