is what i used, also takes a slight ream to slide on easy. guessing 4mm-ID shim is whats needed
Are these shims all the same thickness or varied?

sup guys. once again gonna get back into the rc world. prolly gonna pickup the b5m. got a few questions. im gonna be peicing it together over some time. if i was to build the shocks and diff etc, is the lube/grease gonna dry out if not in use for a while? also i still have from green slime and shock oils, thread lock etc from a lil over a year ago. does it need to be replaced or should it still be ok? ive never had an rc sit for that long so i was curious before i build it just to redo things. thx in advance

I would build everything but the shocks. One I was ready to run it, then I would build them. Green slime does dry out and O ring swell up over time.
That's just me though.

I added the set screws after 2 weeks on my car. Rears worked wonders. The front set screws, the hinge pin is still able to move inside the arm.

You could push the hinge pin back and pull the caster block forward while tightening the set screw.

since the hole in the front of the arm is so small you could push the hinge pin forward and the block back. This will take out the slop when you tighten the set screw. I did the same thing when we all had to drill and tap the rear hubs on the B4's.

there's no 'crush' washer built into it. So when you tighten the screws it binds. If you crack them loose a little so it doesn't bind, it just backs out. I used lock tight, even tried coating the screws, letting it dry and then threading them in. Simply doesn't work.

I heard there's a mod that you can do to add a crush washer but I haven't seen it The plastic parts fit perfect and work perfect so that's what's installed right now. Maybe down the road I'll find this mod and do it, but for now, no thanks.

The joke was about being concern about a few grams..
Only company I know of that offers a Ti axle is Lunsford.

Very nice piece...

Lunsford offers many great upgrades for your B5.

Check um out...

Or build them up with the red orings and save the x-rings for when it's time.
