I have talked to people that ran this chassis. I am curious to see what your impressions are.

As pictured, my setup with 2.2 tires and closed cell inserts is 1520g. Once I put my favorite chassis protector on I will be a little heavier and I am fine with that. 1520-1530 is where I feel big bores still are capable of proper dampening at light weights.

Do you clean out the grease before you add the Avid oil?? I've always hated tearing the seals out of brand new bearing to clean the grease out so I've always just used the cheap bearings and tossed them when they got gritty but if this Avid oil works I might give it a shot.

Well after 20 minutes into my run today my Spektrum DX4C spring just flat out broke - thats great, now I'm out of driving for a couple of weeks. Pisses me off, the thing was 8 weeks old tops.

For the revolutions soak them in orange citrus cleaner and work the race back and forth to break the debris loose. Once they feel smooth again. I runse them with aceton or alcohol to remove any residue. The dry and lube with slip. I plan to get a jewlery sinic cleaner to make the cleaning part faster and easier.

i just put my bearings in a jar (shield removed) and swirl em around in acetone for a few minutes, let em sit and dry off. then re-lube with oil. but you must be watching TV throughout the entire process however

I used to run no sheilds and very little light oil to make them run free (I love stock) but once you start you have to do it OFTEN. I did it every raceday. But... once you clean the grease out even if you run shields dirt will find it's way into the race/balls due the grease not being there to act as a seal. But bearings were expensive back then so today I simply replace them when they start to go. For a cheap option to an ultrasonic cleaner get a small aquarium pump and attach a small container to the top, make a wire mesh shelf inside the container 1/2 inch from the bottom. Run an airline underneath the mesh. The vibrations of the pump and the bubbling do a decent job.

Can somebody please convince me to stop waiting for the factory team kit to come out? I am not in a hurry so the wait is not a huge issue, but does it really make sense for my needs?

I plan to race 17.5 to start. I would love to do mod, but i dont know if my middle aged reflexes can handle it

Oh, can somebody else please convince me to hold out until the factory team comes out? HAHA

Thats not too much to ask, right?

Thanks for your help to an obnoxiously over asked question.

Who doesnt like bling?!

Seriously though, i am more interested in what the FT parts do for performance vs how they look. I guess to rephrase, if i was to buy all the parts from the project FT kit separately(the ones that are performance upgrades and not just bling) would it cost me about the same or more than the FT kit.

Basically what i am getting at is if half the upgrades are worth and i can just piece it out than i would probly buy in 10 minutes. If you guys feel that the majority of the upgrades are in fact huge performance parts, i might just wait.

See, here i go again, in circles.

what exactly would be huge from the FT parts? IMO nothing is huge for performance in mod. For stock? just get the RM car and save your money. MM is not great in stock, it "works" but is not great.
