Bingo. Zero washers in the rear, down A-hubs and 3mm trail ='s massive steering on my B5 on high bite indoor clay.

I wanted to share a great place for getting aluminum screw fasteners.

http://www.fastener-express.com is great for picking up inexpensive stuff!

I get the following and trim/cut to size as needed:
M3 x .5 x 16mm Button Head Socket Screws = Part #: ABHM3016-3H2
M3 x .5 x 16mm Flat Head Socket Screws = Part #: FHM3016-3G5

And if you're the type that likes your car to be "pretty" like Bubonic-X then you can also sport a little more $ for the Blue or Purple ones in Aluminum as well.

At just under $10 for 50 per pack (for the standard silver ones) the pricing can't be beat! And with the B5's using these size screws throughout it makes it easy to pick these up instead of the uber expensive AE screwkit.

Use a screw to pre tap the eyelet. Makes life much easier.

Ya, i feel for him but he chooses to go to work each day. Just spoke with him on my missing caster block and was a little disappointed in the reaction. There was no apology just a "send me a copy of your receipt, part number missing and address and we will get one out to you". By the way they are not in stock so your gonna have to wait.

Oh well, at least it will be taken care of eventually

I might have to try that next time, but I finally got the last eyelet on. Everything else went together really smooth though so I guess something had to go wrong eventually

You can just take a body reamer and open up the start of the hole ever so slightly, just enough to scrape some of the material out of the exit of the hole so the shock shaft threads have something to grab onto.

personally, a set up taps would be best. I have a 3mm tap, but not a 3mm reverse tap for the other side. I have found that some of these plastics in rc are sooo hard, that I can run a screw in and then back out and the threads have been flattened visually. So taping a portion of the hole makes life easier.

that sucks that the part does not exist anywhere......yeah, I have dealt with Nick a few times. He get the job done and always seem to do it promply, but he is not Mr Personality via email. But, I am mainly concerned about the results and his effort. And things get lost in translation in email.

If you want to keep your car "fresh build" tight..get the optional M3 8mm set screws, you're gonna need them.

I will say I'm very impressed with the new steering rack, I've got zero slop in mine. I always figured with that many moving parts you're bound to have some slop no matter what. I don't think AE could possibly give us a tighter rack

I held the shaft with a pair of diagonal cutters in the top thread to avoid messing up the shaft and then I found a socket wrench that held the eyelet and used the wrench to get enough leverage to push it on. I also used a body hole reamer to bevel the entrance to the eyelet just slightly to make starting it easier.
