I have ti turnbuckles, screw kit, front axles, and upper shock mounts. Also aluminum top shaft and Schelle slipper so I thought I would be "moar closer" than I am. Thought it might be 1550 with a shorty but I guess not!

Maybe try lighter shock oil?

On another note, what motor do you have? What about esc? Also your body may be pretty heavy depending on how thick the paint is.

the 120g battery savings and the ~20grams saving with a shorty servo can be 170 grams of savings. Plus, I think someone said 15-18g or so for the Pucks. That is around 150grams of weight saved. Also, some guys are switching to Ti ball studs with TLR 22 cups. The cups are more free than the AE ones and lighter. Plus the Ti studs are lighter than the sc10 4x4 studs the B5 uses. I plan to convert my b5 to the TLR cups/balls, just because i am getting tires of sanding and polishing non stop, lol.

Default 1500 Gram Setup Sheet

Looks like more and more of us are discovering how to get our buggies down to the 1500g range. Would be nice to have some setup sheets or just some general pointers from those who have already gone thru the process.

No brain er ..

14 grams off just from grinding tray & water fall.

Then if your clever ? Use that new a Reedy 14 grade thin wire & even more weight savings for free...

I believe were talkN about a savings in the 1 oz range.

You get those alloy hubs yet ? Lol

Hey Guys,

So I finished my first build. I am looking for tips on what to buy for the motor, speedo and servo.

I was told 17.5 to start with and upgrade from their.

Would a Tekin RS Gen2 Sensored Brushless ESC with a reedy 17.5 brushless work well together? Leaving room to upgrade motor in future to 8.5 or something?

Anyway, feel free to list off the parts you'd piece together or what you would do and Ill take a look at each.

Thanks!

HBRob I have the 1.6 and 1.7 tapered with the 32.5 weight oil all around, White and Green springs. I used that at JBRL at OCRC but now put the pucks in and top shaft, so about 35 grams lighter, thinking of going to 30 weight oil front and 27.5 rear, dropping spring rates by one setting front and back and tune from that point.

Next race is outdoor at CCR, never been but yesterday in Exeter car was bouncy, track had some rough bumps and getting ready for a rebuild but need to lighten up and absorb a little more.

Running stock class so helps to be close to 1500 grams.

ran my car at 1680 outside and it was dialed. Pulling wheelies
Only 3rd time I've even run it and it was still setup for indoors
Super Soft Impacts rear M3 holeshot fronts.

Here's the track we were on. It grooved up nicely.

I bet the hard hubs wouldn't do that.

Jason did you also include a motor washer under the ball stud ?

Good reason to recommend the alloy hub , their stronger..
