I bought the ceramic bearings for my rear motor, but then ordered the extra bearings for my mid motor and will be putting them in there.

4 hole #55 pistons are really good ,the cornering improvement is well worth giving them a try.

helped a kid last night who had a setup like cherry did with his mods.. his car was not good at all.. it was really loose in back and jumped nose heavy. I helped him switch stuff around to more like splkins setup with the battery back under and by motor and it was much better. At least traction and jumping wise. the kid was still faster when his car was stock the week before.

so just because something may work at one person or track doesn't mean it will work for you.

My suggestion is before changing anything like that.. learn to tune your car with tires , suspension tuning.. and practice driving without any crashes..

its just like before on here when certain people were lightweight crazy and said its the only way the car works.. then at stock nats look who is faster...lol its the guys with the heavier cars that are more towards the stock setups with just slight mods.

Tip: when using the alloy hubs ?

Switch the 6mm ball stud used on the plastic hub for a 8mm stud.

This will give maximum strength if you use shims under the hubs ball studs.

You shave 1mm off the top of the steering hub and then add a 1mm spacer to the bottom to move the axle up 1mm.

I gave the higher spindle a go yesterday.

I though like you said and would gain more on power steering ...


That's exalty what happen..

But it was'nt a good thing.
The raise spindle made it even easier for the car to step out on exit of the corner from the extra steering.

Not trying to rag about the change, believe in a rear motor it could be useful.
But mid motor it has issues.

Believe me posts like yours don't come often enough.

Do you think you could still use this mod in conjunction with a front tire that would generally have less traction to counter act the extra steering thing? Use it as kind of a way to be not too much not too little but just right.

I'm trying to learn how to tune these new cars, and there is a lot of great info in this thread. I wish there was a thread for "tech" only, I think it would make it a lot easier for people to understand setup more.....if they didn't have to sift through pics of half built cars and all the other non tech related posts.

I ran with the raised spindles a couple days, decided just before club race to go back to middle.


Can tell you it will be less forgiving coming out of the corner raised .
the reason is because like they say, it has more steering coming out of the corner which most here have no need for on a mid motor.
My ride was way easier to get on the power with the middle position.
Think most will agree after they try both.
