I'll give you that. Every B4 i have seen had no issues with the box. The 22 series however was very close depending on which toe block you had and which hex you had. I agree, i dont think we will have any issues.

In regards to those discussing gearing with the Reedy 17.5 motors....I have always ran roughly 72/33-34 with timing around the 42° mark. I have messed around with the 69t spur and have never liked it as much as the 72t spur. It also depends on your driving style, my gearing might not work for you. My Reedy's have always come off the track in the 130° temp range.

Actually I spent most of my time running buggy. I also race dirt oval, and in my more lavish r/c life style i've run 12th scale, touring cars. All the cars have similar adjustments.

I wish I could run that gearing and timing on my mach 2. I can do it on my previous gen sonic 17.5, but my mach 2 hates going past 40 deg. My kid has a Non mach 2 17.5 running 40 deg timing and 31/70, I run 72/30 with 38 deg timing and I run 20 deg more on temp. I changed the rotor and sensor board and its the same deal. All of my non mach2's just run cooler.

I ran my original sonic 17.5 at 42* timing and 72/33 like Matt and it comes off around 120 everytime

One of the videos made mention of the posability of a conversion from the b5m to b5r. Has anyone heard anything more concrete about it?

I really want to try a mm, but have yet to see a mm car (losi, schumacher, team c, kyosho) work on my track (low to medium traction indoor red clay, currently smooth, but not typically). I really don't want to get into a mm buggy with out an easy out if I can't get it to work.

I'd imagine a conversion comes quick.
RTR may only be rear motor, with mm conversion already available.

Recap: rm, mm, conv, rtr, ft(mm only)

Just my guess.

The kit body is made by AE... It's not a proline body.

The JC silencer bodies are shipping this week though!

The b5m has a different chassis and material than the b5r. Perhaps the Losi22 2.0 would be the way to get both? Just saying' ......

If a mid motor car does not work at your track then why get one? This is why they came out with 2 cars. Different cars work in different conditions. Get the one that works best for you not the one that is the new cool thing to do

For low to barely med traction the rear motor will naturally be the best choice.

Fact...
mid motor guys are way kooler then the rear motor guys...LoL
