For those wondering about the blades/pucks durability, they are widely used on touring cars which are constantly at high speeds so they will stand up to the stress just fine.

Ha this is a funny statement cause this is the ELECTRIC offroad forum, people are here because they choose not to waste money on nitro

Many racers I know do both, just thought it could bring perspective. Nitro is pretty popular after all.

Well I'm just saying if you get into nitro then you probably understand the costs associated with expensive motors and having to buy fuel. That doesn't make me feel any better about spending $100+ on a lipo, I get by with my "cheap" lipos thanks

This comparison doesn't really work. On road cars, while they do generally run hotter motors, do not jump and are not subjected to the shock loads that off road produces. And in on road, throttle modulation is generally smoother anyway.

In no way am I disputing the durability of the Puck system, just pointing out that simply because something works in on road does not mean it will automatically work in off road.

Yes this is true, but the stress levels are still going to similar. My point was if a 4wd touring car with a 4.5 can use pucks without problems, a 2wd buggy will most likely also be able to use pucks with zero issues.

You do realize a TC weighs over a pound less right?
