Got both b5 and b5m rear arms with the car.

What is the difference between them?
B5 arms will shorten the wheelbase given you more traction and allowing you to get around tight corners easier.

The B5M Factor Lite comes standard with B5.

More accurately the B5M rear arms bring the rear hubs a few MM's closer to the tranny so there's more weight closer to the axles equating in more rear traction. So yeah it also shortens the wheelbase. Yes the lite comes with them standard.
Pretty much since everybody else was doing that with the B5M since it came out and the same with the B5 front arms and tower as well!

I was looking at parts for the Yokomo lay down conversion, and the YZ-2 parts look very familiar - the car looks a lot like the B5M. Do Associated and Yok share designers / manufacturers, etc.?
The shocks and suspension arms look like they would be a direct replacement.

Sorry if it's been asked before, did a search and came up blank.

I have heard of some doing this on the SC5m and B5m.
Have any of you guys tried this? If so how did it change the handling?

B5 rear arms on b5m = shorter wheel base, more rear bite, moves weight over the rear axle.

B5M team rear arms on b5m = less rear bite, longer wheelbase by 10mm.

B5M Lite comes with B5 rear and front arms.

B5m champ I think comes with b5m team rear arms.

Correct, B5M CE comes with B5M team rear arms

I tryed the B5 rear arms and even if there more rear bite it's also pretty unstable on bumpy tracks.

Are there any online outlets selling B5M parts at a deep discount given that the B6 is on the way? I wanted to get the parts to switch to 3-gear? Thanks

I has a 3 gear tranny installed but comes with the 4 gear as well. I don't know if I will receive it with the manual. I run on a fairly small track. Leaders usually run low 23's (I ain't one of them...lol)...on a really good groove day they can put down 21-22 sec laps. Holeshot tires and some times even barcodes are usually to go to rubber.

I want to ring this thing out and don't know what oils were used on the build. I was thinking of running it with a square pack. So let me know what spacers to use on the suspension pivot points, oils, springs, tranny, ect.
Ok, so big change...I decided to build this as a stock class 17.5. I got a HW Juststock esc and Fantom FR1 17.5 works edition motor. I plan on exotek slipper eliminator, 69/31 or 32 gearing. The track is a small, tight track, medium to high bite (when it grooves up). I am putting in the cut gears, 3 gear, caged Schelle thrust bearing in the drive train. It already has Ti screws, aluminum c & d.

I am looking for feedback and a shock package (springs and oils)?

I haven't used my slipper eliminator yet because unless it's super high grip I don't see the advantage.
But I run losi 35 silver front, 35 white spring rear. 69/31 gearing. Medium high bite clay

On a med - high bite track with 17.5, I'm running slicks, yellow or red Associated spring on the front and blue on the rear. 32.5 oil in the front, 27.5 in the rear. Gearing is similar to yours, depending on track layout.

I has begun
The first racing collagues attended a race last week and some of them didnt get the result they wanted and now the B5m is the cause. So they sold them immediately (or want to) and now the complete B5 platform wasnt that good and the B6 is the new holy grail

Oh man...funniest fact: The winner and 2nd place of the race attended with their B5Ms and Laydown

Built a 4g in my Dirt- B5m FL: I need a differenz topshaft, dont I?

Got to run my B5m with the YZ2 3 gear laydown gearbox, I've never had a 2wd with so much steering.
